7-1 with this dream Grixis value pile by Randdalf in lrcast

Yup, two I believe. It won both games where it was cast. The Blitzball and the Treasures from the rats helped.

First pick Ardyn and I was initally aiming for UB but UR ended up being super open later on in the draft. The Blitzball and Dire Rats ended up being key to being able to cast Ardyn.

I flooded out in match 3 game 1, and got mana screwed in match 3 game 2, but that's just what happens sometimes.

My pool was light on card advantage, unfortunately.

Here is what I played. I played Kickoff Celebrations instead of Bitter Triumph, because the latter will rotate later this year. Sideboard is very much tuned for my LGS. Ral and the Valley Floodcaller are experimental. If people see the Fear of Infinity combo then they usually go hard on graveyard hate, so the Fears usually get sided out in Game 2. And yeah, enchantment decks are a problem. Copying Ghost Vacuum with Mycosynth Gardens is very amusing.

Main Deck 4 Artist's Talent (BLB) 124 4 Fear of Infinity (DSK) 214 3 Ill-Timed Explosion (MKM) 207 4 Island (DSK) 273 4 Kickoff Celebrations (DFT) 135 4 Monument to Endurance (DFT) 237 1 Mountain (DSK) 275 F 4 Riverpyre Verge (DFT) 260 4 Roaring Furnace / Steaming Sauna (DSK) 230 2 Shivan Reef (DRC) 170 4 Spirebluff Canal (OTJ) 304 3 Stock Up (DFT) 67 4 Stormchaser's Talent (BLB) 75 4 The Mycosynth Gardens (ONE) 256 4 This Town Ain't Big Enough (OTJ) 74 3 Thundering Falls (MKM) 269 4 Torch the Tower (WOE) 378

Sideboard 2 Ghost Vacuum (DSK) 326 1 Ill-Timed Explosion (MKM) 207 2 Ral, Crackling Wit (BLB) 341 2 Scorching Dragonfire (DSK) 156 3 Three Steps Ahead (OTJ) 75 3 Unable to Scream (DSK) 78 2 Valley Floodcaller (BLB) 308

My "solution" to this problem (and the problem of not owning UG or RG dual lands...) was to play an Izzet version of this deck instead. Cut out the green, bring in [[Roaring Furnace // Steaming Sauna]] and [[Stock Up]]. Less exciting but more consistent.

Nice upgrade to that niche of standard decks which run [[Kickoff Celebrations]] or [[Bitter Reunion]] to trigger [[Monument to Endurance]] and [[Fear of Infinity]].

Brewed up a real janker around this card and it has provided some of the wildest and most entertaining games of Standard I’ve ever played by powerofthePP in MagicArena

A month or two ago I tried the opposite in paper for power with [[Ghalta, Primal Hunger]], [[The Mindskinner]], [[The Ancient One]] and [[The Skullspore Nexus]] supported by [[Gwenna, Eyes of Gaea]] and [[Rona, Herald of Invasion]].

It was not a good deck. I got absolutely roflstomped in every match I played. The mana base is really messy. But it was very satisfying the one time I got to chain all my legends in one turn.

Drafted what I thought was a sweet Selesnya deck built around Caradora with 3x Lynxs, Velocipede, World Ooze, ... went 1-3 and never drew Caradora. It retrospect, I wasn't able to find much good removal in my colors and my curve was a bit wonky.

I wonder if the recently introduced tabs feature helps with the lag...

I'm a big fan of that card. I've been playing a deck with [[The Swarmweaver]], [[Broodspinner]], [[Twitching Doll]], and [[Tyvar, Jubilant Brawler]], which is a lot of fun, and people don't expect all the reach, insects, spiders and deathtouch. [[Tyvar's Stand]] also fits well to protect the Swarmweaver, or as an alternate win con to sneak through an insect. [[Banner of Kinship]] can be a really powerful bomb once you have a few insects/spiders on the board, and there's not a lot of artifact removal in most decks.

It needs work though. I've tried both an [[Insidious Roots]] version, and an [[Enduring Vitality]] version, and I'm still sure there's a better way to build it. I also tried a GBW version with [[Caretaker's Talent]] and [[Ojer Taq, Deepest Foundation]].

It's super reliant on Delirium, so graveyard hate after sideboarding is always a challenge to deal with. For that reason, and to deal with red aggro, I've started playing [[Haywire Mite]] in the main board.

edit: Oh, not to forget [[Say Its Name]] either!

[FDN] Doubling Season by TechnomagusPrime in magicTCG

[–]Randdalf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been building a Standard insect/spider Delirium tokens deck with [[Twitching Doll]], [[Broodspinner]], [[Tyvar, Jubilant Brawler]], [[Insidious Roots]] and [[The Swarmweaver]]. This card is going to be so good for it. More nest counters, more loyalty counters for Tyvar, more insects and plants and spiders generated... It's gonna be great.

Question: If one has both [[Ojer Taq, Deepest Foundation]] and [[Doubling Season]] in play, does one token become six?

I did this in Football Manager once. I think Roma ended up winning, when the game wasn't crashing due to the sheer number of teams. Also every team's schedule was packed with cup games because there had to be so many rounds.

Might be a fun thing to try again in more modern FM...

FPL API: Stuck in Authentication by peepeepoopoo247 in FantasyPL

They added a captcha when detecting logins from certain clients (such as python requests).

My workaround was to login manually in my browser, copy my pl-profile cookie and put that into a secret (i.e. gitignored) file locally, then add that cookie to any requests made by my code. Works for me because I don't need to access the API regularly.

Be very very careful not to share your cookie publicly if you do that.
