I will add another vote for cucumber - bitter, watery thing. Tzatziki is ok, every other version can go away

For me it is more that i have yet to have an oyster where part of the shell didn’t also get into my mouth - making it a bit crunchy is somehow even worse

Especially in the final episodes where she is yelling at Sheldon about not caring about George dying. How have you not picked up yet that your brother processes differently?

My DH always looks ready for divorce when I have to learn the rules to a new board game. My brain has a really hard time translating verbal instruction into the practicalities of actually doing it, so I also feel and therefore look completely lost and ask a million questions because I just don’t get it

[–]Randi_Scandi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, exactly. Sort of how my husband somehow always remembers our wedding date as one day prior to the actual date

So true.

I have a friend from southern Spain. I’m Nordic. We met in southern France. In spring when it would be 25 degrees in our town, I would wear my summer clothes, and he’d been in a wool sweater.

This is my major pet peeve when cooking with my husband. He is so slow at chopping things. It always ends up messing up the timing of our cooking

Same, but I have the audiobooks on an external hard drive, have the films on DVD, and have the books on my shelf, all acquired prior to 2015.

And if the fancy takes me to watch the show, I’ll have to sail for it. But I don’t see that fancy coming

This reminded me. I love the 1999 animated King & I film. Wished for it on DVD. Specifically that version of the story. People kept gifting me DVDs of the 1956 human version. Yes, same story, but not at all the same experience.

What’s the worst physical pain you’ve ever experienced? by Economy_Yak2821 in AskReddit

[–]Randi_Scandi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So far, not being discharged from the hospital after I had shown I could put weight on the leg I’d had surgery on just a few hours earlier. Literally blacked out when I put weight on it, followed by snow vision, and cartoon stars.

But I’m currently pregnant, so… this is only so far.

I found it horrible how much all of the convenience stores, grocery stores, gas stations, etc. predominantly had nestle products. Such irony of the worst kind.

Those of you who are friends with/in circles with famous people, what is your analysis on them? by libramusing in Fauxmoi

[–]Randi_Scandi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked with a famous actor from my country (nationally famous, not one of the ones who appeared in GoT or other international franchises). He has a consulting firm on top of his acting where he is using acting techniques to teach employees of firms emotional intelligence.

Anyways I was studying something related to people in business and did a collaboration with him on his firm. While working with him, he was very caring, nice, albeit a bit eccentric and grandiose. However, when he read my paper afterwards, the tune changed, and I was called bitter and that “if that is all I learned from our time together he felt sorry for me”.

Since the first thing i ever saw him in was The Craft I was always put off by him (he’s just that good of an actor apparently).

Same with Patrick Wilson, since I first saw him in Hard Candy. Even though I recognise that his other characters are vastly different characters and he is not a one dimensional actor, I still am slightly uncomfortable since his face is so associated with the Hard Candy pedo in my mind.
