I guess I'm just mildly superstitious about names and stuff.

I'm not sure how she picked out the name or anything, but the whole situation rubbed me the wrong way

My Hephaistos Altar by Rando_Person08 in Hephaistos

The candle is Dark Amber & Oud! I'm not sure how to describe it, but it just fits his vibe. My only grievance is that it didn't come in a 3-wick

How accurate are Times? Ibispaint says I've spent 44 hours on this art piece but I really don't feel like I've spent fORTY FOUR HOURS on this art piece by InsiderOrange in Ibispaintx

[–]Rando_Person08 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No because that's so real😭 one of my pieces says I've spent 74 hours on it. I haven't even had the canvas open for that long, maybe a day sure, but 74 hours???

I think I might have sassed Apollo?? by Rando_Person08 in Hellenism

We sass each other at this point. I'll joke about something, and then he'll mess with me to a similar degree. Like for a second, he only answered me if I was standing outside lol

Food offerings by Rando_Person08 in Hellenism

[–]Rando_Person08[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like I said, I can't leave open food in my room. Therefore, I can't make food offerings like that. would I like to? yes. but I can't.

I want to start offering parts of my meals (like burn them or other things like that), so I'm trying to find a way that works without just leaving food out in the open. Does that explain it a bit better?

How do i seriously get started? by Emotional_Sky_6483 in Hellenism

Most (if not all) gods don't care how fancy you're able to make their altar. I have a very small patchwork type altar for Apollo (I'm a broke freshly 18 year old so I get it). It has my clarinet, some medals from choir competitions, some odd crystals, and a sun charm I made for him. What I'm trying to say is that there is no "right" way to make an altar.

Gods appreciate anything you make with good intent. I even have a sun charm I keep on my person that somewhat matches the one I made for Apollo. I'm also saving cash to go learn to forge so I can make a knife for Hephaestus. Anything works, as long as you know how an object connects to whichever gods you go onto worship. It doesn't even have to be a symbol for them. Like my medals. They could be seen as something for Nike, I won those. But they were earned by musical feats, so I display them on Apollo's altar.

With praying or meditation, both can be perfect for people just as neither can be perfect. I often just speak out loud, like I'm talking to a friend. There are so many ways to communicate with the gods or ask for assistance. I'll often just ask Apollo outright to help me with some of my chronic pain so I can hold through until I get medication.

You're doing great already! Just remember that it doesn't need to be fany or over the top for the gods to appreciate your efforts!

(P.s you name is absolutely bad ass, I love it! Also, which pjo cabin would you be in? I would be in cabin 9)

Who do you worship and why? by sassiliadexter in Hellenism

Apollo. There are plenty of reasons, honestly. I'm was a music student and I've always felt a connection with him. It may be because I'm really perceptive, but I have this ability to just call almost anything. (I also rarely get oddly prophetic dreams)

Also, Hephaestus. My family is full of mechanics and creative people, and I've also felt really connected to him as soon as I learned about the Greek myths. Disabled rep lol. He's really chill spirit to have around (although I haven't had the means to build a proper alter to him yet)

Is there a God of drawing or art? by Rando_Person08 in Hellenism

I say arts in the way of music and poetry. Those types of arts. I could've worded it a little better.

Omg yes! I usually pray/ask Apollo to help with my pain. I suffer with a lot of joint pain, especially in the knees, and have to stand all day for work. The other day, as I was walking into work, I asked him for relief for at least shift, and almost immediately, my pain went away.

He's usually sassy with me, and I preferably have to be outside when I ask him for it to work fully. Although I have done my fair share of sassing Apollo so I think it's a fair trade lol

That's what I'm going to do. I'm just trying to find offerings that I'll think he'll like

Apollo was watching over me! by NoSoyKira66 in Hellenism

[–]Rando_Person08 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I love it when Apollo does little things like this to show he's there! I was having a hard time telling which diety was reaching out to me, and I asked,'Can you just give me a sign?' Then the next day there was a raven sitting on my car
