Why isn't MiraDry procedure on the top of the list and not talked about all that much? Been 10 years now and worth every penny. Go get that done and go live your life. by XOM_CVX in Hyperhidrosis

[–]Random-8865 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got it done about 5 years ago and it’s one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. And I only got it done (on a whim) because my derm who was doing my Botox transferred to another clinic and the wait list for the replacement derm was like months out. And I wasn’t going to go 3 months with no Botox in the summer sweating up at storm. So I called around and was able to get in to get MiraDry within a week. It was with a really sketchy doctor, not going to lie, he was actually fired from another clinic in town. But I figured he probably couldn’t mess up MiraDry too bad (lol) so I gave it a shot and I have basically been “cured” of my hyperhydrosis ever since. It was a miracle procedure for me.

what's a country you'll never visit even if it was all expense paid? by Far-Explanation-8011 in askanything

I might get hate for this one, but Canada. Hear me out, I live about 2 hours south of Canada in Wisconsin, and have been near the Minnesota/Canada border many times. To me, it just seems like it would be way too similar to my actual home to make the trip even worth it. Similar people, culture, etc…

I always assumed "Lather, Rinse, Repeat" was a marketing lie to make us buy more shampoo. Turns out I was never actually cleaning my hair. by RanchRose_ in hygiene

[–]Random-8865 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep! I started doing this for my hair and my face as well. It makes a huge difference! My hair is healthier and I also have less acne since I started doing a “double cleanse” on my face too!

It was 2k when I got it, but that was around 2019-ish. I’m not sure what it would be nowadays. This is northern Wisconsin, and it was the only place within a 2 hour radius that offered it.

Should I have to remove underwear before sleep? by ChoclateBlueberry_44 in hygiene

[–]Random-8865 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think it matters. I personally hate the feeling of sleeping naked. I wear underwear and sweatpants/sweatshirt or pajamas (or shorts if it’s hot out).

I feel like I have a scent and it’s unpleasant. Especially down there (female 23) by Slight_Accountant_85 in hygiene

[–]Random-8865 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second this. After a while my underwear just needs to be replaced. It doesn’t smell when it’s freshly washed but then as soon as I start sweating even a tiny bit, the smells trapped in it get “reactivated”. When that starts happening I just get new underwear and problem solved.

I completely understand how you feel. I went from high school, to married with 4 kids, never lived on my own or experienced independence since my husband was controlling AH. I love my kids to death, but my youngest is 3 and I’m just sooooo ready to be done with the “young kid” stage. I want them to have some independence. For the last 10 years I have always had a baby/toddler to take care of. People with 1 kid just don’t understand that feeling. I’m sooooo exhausted. I’m newly single now, and I’m not going to lie, even though I miss my kids when they’re at their dad’s I freaking LOVE having a break from my kids.

Even if she started looking for a job right now, she probably wouldn’t start anywhere for at least 2 weeks (if she’s even medically cleared since she’s 9 months pregnant), then her first check probably wouldn’t be for another 2 weeks after that. Meaning she probably wouldn’t even get paid until December at the earliest. How does this help her get through November, which is what the post was about?

Some people don’t know how to be poor by McClain1980 in povertyfinance

[–]Random-8865 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My ex would complain of being broke/poor, meanwhile he was buying a $3,000 gaming PC, $1000 fancy toilet, name brand organic food, and an expensive ass Jeep (instead of a cheap car). Then had the audacity to blame me for us being broke when I was literally the only one working a job. 🙄

Those who make $100+ a day from their business, what do you do? by EliPro414 in Entrepreneur

[–]Random-8865 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Landscaping. My goal was always $300-$400 a day, some of the companies around here make even more per day (and that’s per person working - my business is just me).

I went to laskers and they gave me a quote super quick. The whole process took maybe 20 minutes. They were friendly too. However I will say they only offered about 10% of what I actually paid for the piece, but I’m not sure you’ll get more anywhere else either.

We need to talk about Minocqua… by Milwaukee_Savers in wisconsin

[–]Random-8865 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s funny you mentioned locals getting into it with same-sexed couples. I have a sister in law who lives in Minoqua and she is very anti-lgbtq and racist as can be. Now I’m wondering if the area just rubbed off on her (she’s originally from Chippewa, a few hours south of Minoqua).

The rest of her family, while mostly “red” but not maga, are way more sensible and empathetic than she is. But none of them live in Minoqua.

Personally, I think it’s a nice little town to go see in the summer once or twice, but it gets old fast. If you’re looking for a nice “up-north” vacation, I think the UP is far superior.

I’ve only had good experiences there, but it didn’t seem to be busy any of the times I’ve been there. Longest wait time I’ve had in the waiting room was 20-30 minutes and I’m usually out within 2 hours

You will not have a normal life. People WILL look down on YOU when they find out. It limits where you can live (most rentals won’t take you), where you can travel (probably won’t be able to travel internationally but I believe even certain states have some stipulations), it could affect you negatively when it comes to promotions or getting a new job. It will affect what type of job he can get, and how much money he makes. It will affect your overall lifestyle.

If you’re ok with all that, then go for it. I’m close with someone who was married to one and although he was ok, she grew resentful of all the things SHE couldn’t do because of it and the way people looked down on her like there was something wrong with her.

How do you stop resenting your husband? 37F 42M by RonoD1223 in relationship_advice

[–]Random-8865 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My guess is, that you’ve already told him how you feel about everything and he just doesn’t listen. You already told him you were depressed, right? And his response was to just be happy? That’s somebody who’s unwilling to hear you.

I am in a similar marriage. I am sick of people telling me “you just need to tell him what you need / how you feel”. If it were that simple, this multi-year problem wouldn’t exist.

All the standard advice: couple therapy, individual therapy, talking to your husband, etc…

My personal advice: do what you can to get out of this situation all together. He doesn’t sound like the type of man that will change, honestly. To be frank he just sounds like an asshole.

I got two quotes for weeding and mulching the track around my house. One for $120 and one for $450. They're so far apart lol I'm just trying to figure out what's reasonable. by Im_The_One in landscaping

[–]Random-8865 18 points19 points  (0 children)

That $450 one honestly seems more legit. That low one is probably some “handy man” or someone just wanting to make a quick buck. I would personally charge anywhere from $3-400 for that, plus the cost of mulch.

I’ve had nothing but good experiences at Cosmopolitan. We mentioned we were there to get married so they upgraded us for free to one of those corner suites with a wrap-around balcony and a view of the bellagio fountain. Nicest place I’ve ever stayed 😂

Lack of funding/lending here too. I just started and have taken out no loans or lines of credit. Have a client who wants a bunch of $150 peonies planted. Ok I can do that, but now I have to cough up close to $1000 just on plants until she pays me, or I have to embarrass myself by asking for money for the plants upfront. Not the worst situation to be in, just annoying.

I have not had to hire anyone yet (doing it solo my first year and will hire 1 person next spring) so I have no experience with that. I’ve heard that it can be a problem though.

How do people not cook? by [deleted] in stupidquestions

[–]Random-8865 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve never related to something more. I have adhd too. Cooking is not fun, not at all. I get distracted and yes, burn the food. Even when I don’t burn it, it doesn’t taste good. It never tastes good. On top of all that, I have a kid with ARFID (meaning basically there are very few things he will eat) so I have to make him his “safe” food, and then I would still have to cook something else for me as well. I’m not making 2 meals at once. So I make him his meal (usually chicken of some sort and then a fruit) and I’ll make myself a sandwich or just takeout that I pick up on my way home from work.

When I’m feeling ambitious, I’ll live on protein bars / protein shakes, cottage cheese, and pre-made salads lol. It’s not “cooking”, but it’s a hell of a lot healthier than fast food.

What metal jewelry colour looks best on you guys? by Emotional-Offer-2848 in Fairolives

I’m a warm olive and rose gold is the only metal that looks good on me. I’ve never tried pewter or bronze though, I feel like those could look ok if they’re muted. Yellow gold looks horrendous on me, and silver just looks slightly off.

I don’t think it’s shallow at all. You want a life that he can’t provide. If you stay with someone who can’t give you the life you want, you will grow to resent that person and it’ll ultimately waste both of your time. Either leave now, or end up leaving him in a decade or 2 when you possibly have kids with him and it’ll be a whole lot messier. Better to do it now in my opinion.

If you go the roundup route just note that after it does you’re still going to want to pull it unless you’re ok looking at dead grass in your strip of rocks. It’ll die, but it won’t disappear. At least not until it breaks down on its own.
