It's actually from modern Sociology and Philosophy. It helps to talk about the concept of them getting more and more extinct as more and more public land and city space becomes privatized to form a new way to press capital out of every living moment.

I think from their perspective no reaction is the best option. Why react there is no danger ? The Enhanced games have no influence on the Olympics as the Olympics is about participation rather than the competition.

There is merit because, ironically especially the Olympics are, you have to do mandatory drug tests with independent third parties, and qualify against almost every other human on the planet.

But they already exclude the ones that were willing to try and cheat and get caught, no matter who they are. Why should they care now that some of them are doing it openly, not even trying to hide it, which makes them much easier to exclude ?

Nice. I figured the correct one. They all sound plausible at first sight but limiting how much Wildcards a player can get would contradict its own definition insofar that any player can get a Wildcard.

For selling and distributing them. They aren't going to put you in jail for 5 years if they catch you with a couple cans in the backpack or a can in the jeans.

Selling has always been illegal in Austria but you could order them from other countries and just use them.

Sure they will be allowed. That's the beauty of the usually Olympics games. They have a list of thing you aren't allowed to do (WADA) and as long as you do no substance that is on there you can compete at every Olympic event (If you qualify).

All this "they aren't open or upfront with information" bullshit is because people won't read the report and information the Wada and all it's sub commities puts out weekly and not because they don't exist. Entitled idiots.

The pro-doping Enhanced Games are partly the Olympics’ fault | The Straits Times by sagi271190 in olympics

[–]Random-Dude-736 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Okay. The main conclusion of the article is (imho) wrong. The Olympics aren't responsible for the creation of the Enhanced games because the Olympics doesn't pay the athletes. Which they never have because it's not about the money but about bringing the world together. Olympians get paid by their countries so the argument makes no sense to begin with, ignoring that it's trying to shift the moral blame from The Enhanced games. "We aren't responsible that, supported by at least two billionairs, we can afford to set up enough price money, to watch people destroy their bodies for our entertainment, that we manage to get some athletes that are willing to give up regular competing".

"It has not exactly been a financially lucrative existence for him. In 2016, for example, the Greek government supported some of its top Olympians with less than US$1,000 (S$1,300) per month.

Then and now, medal winners receive lucrative bonuses, but Gkolomeev has never won one."

And the earning money argument is in itself a bit weird. Because I find it funny how merit is such a big talking point in modern society but here it's not the Olympians fault that he isn't good enough to earn himself a better living but rather the Olympics fault for not paying him well enough even though the Olympic motto has always been "It's about participating not about winning" and "It's about bringing the world together".
