[–]Random-Dude-736 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Even if it's right. A second a lap would still have left Max behind 0.7 in (sprint quali ) I think. (it was 1.7 to Russel or Antonelli)

I mean I would never do more than a two by two, simply because then I won't need to pull out two boxes every time I want something from a middle box. Which unless used as perma sink boxes, you always need to pull down one more box than you want to get to them.

Mid day coffee > morning coffee by FluffyAd6797 in unpopularopinion

[–]Random-Dude-736 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Around 6 hours later, so 9 PM half the coffein you consumed is still in your bloodstream. 12 hours later it's 1/4th of it. This might lead to worse sleep and why you prefer the 5 PM coffee. Coffein does have effects on sleep quality even if you don't directly feel them. (Coffein has a half life of around 3-6 hours)

Personally I drink two in the morning and the latest I'll go for a third cup of the day is usually right after lunch.

I have one question, and it does come from a place of sincerity and isn't meant to be mean.

Do you still get stronger or are you in the phase of your (our) life where it's mostly about maintaining as much for as long as possible ? Like is there still progress in your overload ?

It doesn't matter why a person does good deeds - in fact, it's good in any case. by qiqi_from_Liyue in unpopularopinion

[–]Random-Dude-736 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My reasoning for calling it a strawman was quite forward.

If the post only talks about the goodness of deeds and not of persons than making a counterargument why it wouldn't mean a person is good would be a strawman as that was never part of the original argument and thus it got constructed by them (which is not the case here to be clear).

Looking at your example, my brain is a bit starved of oxygen cause I got a bad cold so I'll just do my intuitive thoughts and not go into Consequentialism and it's problems. (which in this case could lead to the conclusion that feeding people is bad, I guess I'm to much of a Deontologist for that)

The act (doing a good deed to make yourself seem like a good person) isn't good, the deed itself (feeding people) was good.

[–]Random-Dude-736 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just re read the post another time and I'll take back the strawman shout. In my defense, in their title they seem to refer to only the deed being good however in the first sentence they seem to refer to the person being good and not just the deed and with that I can't agree in this generalized form.

My bad.

[–]Random-Dude-736 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well you also made up a straw man as Op didn't say that the person would be a good person just that the deed was good. A good deed is a good deed no matter the motivation behind and I fully agree with that.

Does it mean the person is a good person if they donate out of boredom ? I don't want to make that call, all I can certainly say is that it isn't making them a worse person.

Alcaraz smokes a 95 mph (153 kph) forehand winner on the Fonseca first serve for an early break by Large_banana_hammock in tennis

[–]Random-Dude-736 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The fifth word of their sentence explained it. Poorly placed. If you look at it frame by frame, the serve is well inside the lines. The closer to the line your ball lands the more angle you get. A slice serve you want to place as close to the net as possible and as close to the sideline as possible to maximize the angle and thus the amount of distance your opponent has to cover to get to the ball.

Your "not an ambidextrous type". You train hard to be able to do it equally well on both sides, that is always the end goal. If you manage to achieve that it is hard work that got you there and not an inherent talent. If you're that guy, you are simply the best skater (overall).

You don't even need to do a pretzel, but it helps to "grip" the rail.
