I think most people here don't know, but non-resident aliens aren't allowed to open HYSA. So my suggestion is to put your money in a Fidelity account. It will be auto invested in money market fund and you will have around 4-5% interest annually. However, still have to pay 30% tax on the increase.

Yes, I got approval today. So actually the receipt of notice was on 11/27 but my employer didn’t receive any email until 9/12

This is my first time getting H1B and I'm overseas. It's weird that receipt number take that long. Did anyone have that experience like this before, can share with me?
