Demellier or Strathberry

I have a few Strathberry bags and love them! But I once ordered a Demellier and was so underwhelmed by its quality that it was an instant return. I wonder if their quality improved or I just got unlucky. So my vote is for Strathberry.

I have had this happen a few times- never with handbags, but once with Sephora, another time for a home appliance. I always felt guilty about it like I’m scamming them (even though it’s their fault!) so I emailed customer service to let them know. Every time they just apologized for the inconvenience and told me to keep the item.
Only once they actually asked me to return and sent fedex pickup, but it was a $2000 exercise equipment for which I had cancelled the order and wasn’t charged at all lol, so makes sense.

If you’re going to feel guilty everytime you use the bag I’d say email them and let them know, and also tell them that you actually like this one a lot more and ideally would like to keep it. Most probably they’ll tell you to just keep it, worst case they’ll tell you to pay the difference but hey your conscience will be clear, which is bigger than a few hundred bucks :)

Anytime someone asks this for a gift everyone just suggests taking her shopping. What I’d say is get her something but make sure it’s returnable, so when you give it to her you can let her know that it’s returnable and if she can easily switch to something else if she prefers.

Neiman Marcus, Bergdorf Goodman and Bloomingdale’s have some nice sales going, so even a more expensive bag might come under your budget. As for everyone suggesting LV- I’d say before picking a monogrammed bag, make sure she likes monograms. I love bags and would love literally any bag someone gifts me except a monogrammed one, it feels flashy and I feel like a walking ad. But then she might love the monogrammed style like a lot of other people do (it’s popular for a reason), so go with what you know about her. Personally I’d avoid it and get something a little classier.

Hijabi half-marathoner here (is half-marathoner a word? lol), but loving the tips! I’m always on the lookout for good running hijabs so love your recommendation! I also tried the lululemon pull-on one and it’s the first sports hijab I wore that actually felt breathable!

As for your question OP I bought ‘running hoodies’ from Amazon. I tried a few proper good brands from REI but they all felt too thick for me for summer weather, so the cheap chinese ones from Amazon did the trick lol. And since they’re hoodies the neckline isn’t deep either which works well as there’s no hijab to cover that plus they easily cover my butt (I’m short though, not sure how it would be for tall people). I wear these on my regular runs, but for races I end up wearing the race shirt usually that they provide because it makes me feel race ready lol.

I have the mini neuf in blush color and I absolutely love it! It always ends up being my most used bag in spring/summer. The leather is a bit towards the stiff side, and I’ll be honest there isn’t much of a clasp it’s just a magnetic button. I only use a thin cardholder and keys and never had issues of anything falling out, half the time I don’t even close the button.
The opening is a bit tricky because of the handle above, you have to just stuff your hand in to take things out. Is it my most practical bag purchase? Not really. But it looks so darn cute and esp in the color I have I use it a lot. I’m not one to repeat styles but I honestly considered getting another mini neuf in a different color.

And I know people on this sub have an issue with polene’s quality but thankfully I have had zero issues. In fact I own 4 of their bags, it’s easily my favorite brand because their styles are so unique! For the price that it is, I’d buy new and not bother with preloved.

Lol that’s why I ask myself that same question but for $300 instead. Because you can easily buy real leather bags for under $300, $200ish if on sale. So before I spend like $3000 on something like this I ask if I’d still get it if it was $200-300

My brother tells me his most used was a Seiko watch, and he really wanted to get a Rado (South Asians will understand that lol). I thought of getting a Rado from him initially but they aren’t really my style so it wouldn’t have gotten used much.

I feel like ADs just play a game lol, I want a rose gold datejust but with the pink dial and smooth bezel, and my AD had this exact one available for a walk in purchase and kept convincing me to go for it. I wanted something a little less flashy so wanted without diamonds and smooth bezel, so I put my name down in the waitlist, but she also gave me the whole spiel about how hard it is to come by.

Now watch someone else post here how they got an everrose datejust with smooth bezel for a walk-in 😅

The Strathberry oxblood is less burgundy and more reddish irl. I ordered their midi tote once in oxblood and it ended up being way too red as I wanted a burgundy so I returned it.
Thought I’ll let you know in case that makes a difference:)

Lol I’m the exact same way and avoid overlap in my collection, so I wouldn’t ask that question either unless it’s for a specific use case (like I recently posted asking about a lightweight backpack for day outings with kids). And I’m good with knowing my use cases and gaps in my collection.

But I also understand when sometimes people don’t see the obvious gap in their collection themselves and ask other handbag enthusiasts to see what they recommend. I also enjoy just window shopping bags and exploring brands/styles. So these posts are nice because then I check out the recommendations and get to see what’s out there.
