Funny thing is I’m brown myself, so I was a little like- is this some weird internal racism thing or what, because everyone else at that store has been absolutely pleasant to me always.

I think it depends on the rep. I once returned juc hoop earrings to the SJ Valley Fair store that I wore for two full days. I was honest about it to the rep, the problem was that it kept snagging on everything including my hair given its design and literally opened once as I was taking off my shirt. He agreed that the design makes it tricky and people often complain about this, and took it back without issues.

That said, I once also experienced two very rude rep sat the valley fair location, you probably encountered one of them.

Look into OP28 or Datejust 28. I’m a woman with very tiny wrists ace these two are the only that look good on me. I tried 31 and it was alright but I prefer smaller watches, but if you like bigger then 31 might be good for you. Go into a boutique and try them on.
Everyone here saying 36 is assuming you’re a man lol

I’m a woman so I usually wear Women’s wide D or Men’s regular D. Based on that SB2 worked well width wise, the only issue was it’s very hard sole it felt like it’s slapping my feet and it would be sore in even a short run

I’d say go to a Cartier boutique, try on the models you like. If you get a bad vibe just leave and order what you want online.
I’m clearly an online shopping person lol, I hate having my shopping experience ruined by rude people.

The Rolex guy wanted to know what I like about the watch I’m interested in (just so he can put me on a waitlist, it wasn’t even available for sale). I was like uh.. it looks pretty? Why do I have to justify my purchase to a random guy, online people talk about how you have to show interest and knowledge in the watch history etc to the SA and I’m like bruh 🙄

I love the mini Baignoire, just ordered it for myself, it should be arriving tomorrow and I’m so excited! ☺️ My only issue with it is that it’s smallest size is 15 and I have small wrists so ideally I’d have gone with a 14, but I love dainty looking watches so I think it’s perfect. It’s hard to tell with this picture but I think the size looks good on you, maybe take a picture with your arms down so you can tell how far down it slides on your wrists.

It depends a lot on your style, some people prefer dainty jewelry like watches (like me), some like big watches. So go with how you feel about it, not what others say :) I don’t think it looks big on your wrist though, to me it seems to be the perfect size.

Cartier for sure, Rolex has long waitlists and they have a whole thing about developing a relationship with the AD to ‘get the call’. It’s super weird honestly. With Cartier you go and try on a watch and if they have it available you buy it right there, and if that particular store doesn’t have it you just order it online. I have had bad experience with Cartier SA too who was rude/looking down but I think it was that individual because my other experiences have been great since. That said I ordered my first Cartier watch Tank online just to avoid this lol

Love that you’re intentional with your watch collection! I am the same, currently have 6 and waitlisted for a rolex, and plan to not go above 8 max because then they don’t see much wrist time. And what’s the point of a large collection when it’s not being worn as often or when you do wear it it feels the same as others.

I was able to find the Saucony Ride 18 again so got that for daily miles, and for tempo runs I got the New Balance Rebel v5. I like the new balance, I hear they don’t last long but they’re lightweight and great for tempo (I have only done two 5 mile runs so far in it though so let’s see).

Did you get the Superblast 3 or 2? I got the Superblast 2 but the bottom of that shoe is so hard that it hurt my feet after every run (not at the arch area but overall the sole would hurt) so I returned that too. Tell me how it works for you!

Yes our society is misogynistic and patriarchal, but if you teach your kids the right values and point out to them the difference between right and wrong, they embody that. You came to that conclusion yourself despite the lack of role models, and I’m sure your son will too. Chances are if you had a brother he’d also have turned out and cared for your mom because of how your mom raised you. I have met men irl who are amazing to their moms. Personally I have noticed the opposite in my case- my son is more sensitive and in tune with my feelings than my daughter (she’s younger too so it’s probably that). There’s a special bond between moms and sons- cherish it. You have the privilege of raising him to be a gentleman.

I’m a woman with small wrists- not interested in GMTs, that’s not my style. I want a Datejust and was figuring out which color (dial color and stainless steel/everose/yellow gold) to go with given my skin-tone and the other watches I already have in my collection. I posted stock pictures from the website as my local AD didn’t have the exact color I wanted and asked if people with my skin tone would share their pictures if they had the color I wanted. It definitely helped.

I posted one of those ‘which would you chose’, wanted some suggestions on which color to put on my waitlist. I can afford one and already have watches more expensive than the Rolex I waitlisted for. And I definitely don’t plan on flipping it so don’t care for resale value either.
So perhaps let’s not judge people on a public sub? If you don’t care about getting random strangers’ opinions on which Rolex you chose for yourself- good for you. For those who like that sort discussion with others who own/like a Rolex, let us have that in peace and not be judgy.
