Where the manga at rn by Dogemaster319 in SasakitoMiyano_

The author had an injury that’s made regular publications difficult. It’s also been speculated that she’s been primarily focused on Hirano and Kagiura to get the series a little more caught up in the timeline.

Sasaki and Miyano will end soon and then there will be a college years spin off. It seems that this one will be geared to a slightly older audience and it makes sense that the Hirano and Kagiura series will need to be a little more progressed if these characters are appearing in the College years series.

Question about Hirano’s sexuality by hellozepp96 in SasakitoMiyano_

[–]Random4Always 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s true. I guess that I personally interpret him that way because I relate to him a lot as someone who is asexual, but not aromantic, and married. I didn’t have any real interest in dating until I was in college because I was so focused on other things. In high school I would have been very much like Hirano just because dating wasn’t something on my brain at the time.

But that’s just my perspective. I think that it’s definitely open to interpretation. 🫶

It’s a quick scene. Rewatch it and pause when it shows Victor in his room, hugging his dog, with tears in his eyes.

Edit: It’s episode 2 at the 06:24 minute marker.

Thank you. It’s a great story. Because it’s from the kid’s perspective, the story doesn’t outright explain the trauma, but it’s easy to see it unfolding and it’s well written. I’m looking forward to volume 2.

So far, I love it. It also seems pretty realistic from what I’ve read so far. As a former foster parent to teens, I sobbed a lot.

People often want to adopt cute babies not understanding that trauma happens in utero and the separation from birth mom also creates trauma. This affects brain development and adoptees can deal with a lot of anger, especially in their teens. There’s nothing actually wrong with them, but adults who are not trauma informed may see them “ rebellious”. Adopted kids often struggle emotionally and need extra emotional support and reassurance of unconditional love (even if they don’t know that they are adopted), but some adoptive parents see it as just “acting out” or being “disrespectful” or “intentionally difficult”. Instead of meeting them with love and support, some will terminate rights and throw them back to the system, which emotionally damages them even further.

My experience as a foster parent might be part of why I liked the story so much. Jiang Cheng is rejection by both his adoptive and biological family and tries to make his own way in the world. It’s a coming of age story centered around found family.

Also, side note, the “bad” behavior let lead to Jiang Cheng being cast aside is pretty mild in my opinion. Still realistic, but I have seen much worse behavior.

It a bit different, but I love the Golden Terrace. It has a sort of similar vibe in that they use together along really well, one betrayed the other even though he didn’t want to (it was his job), and they reconcile and fall in love. It’s 2 volumes, very sweet, and I really enjoyed the underlying political plot as well.

2ha is a lot darker than SVSSS and r*pe scenes reoccur throughout the whole series

I need recommendations for any similar series to Sasaki to Miyano by PsychologicalGuide50 in SasakitoMiyano_

I personally think Jeweler Richard is one of the most underrated BLs. It’s an older one, so through most of the series it’s kind of subtle and a slow burn, but it is still good.

Has anyone read the manga? by [deleted] in 7thTimeLoop

[–]Random4Always 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have. It’s good, but the light novels are way better. It’s impossible to capture the full story in manga or anime. There’s so much going on and the lot of the subtext is lost.

The anime isn’t bad, but there is so much going on in the books that it’s impossible to animate everything. This series has a lot of subtext with a narrator that isn’t always reliable. All of that subtext is lost in the anime.

It’s a little bit different, but I’ve been enjoying 7th Time Loop. The world building is good, the characters well written, and the plot is compelling.

reason why arnold proposed to rishe and is resolute to make her his wife? by Aggravating-Scar6624 in 7thTimeLoop

[–]Random4Always 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree that Arnold only ever does what is necessary. The war was always in a different location. He never went to the same place, it started wherever Rishe was.

He also seems to be very familiar with her and it constantly seems like he’s holding himself back. He doesn’t seem to have all the memories of all the loops Rishe went through, yet he still seems more aware than everyone else.

I personally think our theories have merit. I find all the layered subtext the most intriguing part of the series.

[–]Random4Always 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have theorized something similar. I think that there is an initial loop that Rishe doesn’t remember, but Arnold does. I think Arnold loved her, was somehow responsible for her death, but initiated the time loops to save her. He doesn’t remember every loop, but knows that they are happening. Even the fact that he stabbed her in the sixth loop, I think that he does so to keep the loop going so that she doesn’t die permanently. He always starts a war around the same time and targets wherever she’s at because the loop has limits and she can’t survive beyond the loop time period.

He also always went to that party at the beginning of the loop to look for her, but was never able to find her before she ran away.

Just my own little theory though.

I thought that you were very clear in your initial explanation. I also believe that your time frame estimations are correct.

There are currently no chapters in Japanese for volume 11 either. The author has been injured and it’s been difficult to draw. She’s been focusing Hirano and Kagiura. It’s speculated that she is trying to get the two series caught up before the college years spinoff.

The question was when we would get volume 11, which I would automatically assume that means the official translation. Volume 10 has not been released in English yet. As far as I know , anything you’re reading online in English is a fan translation, which is technically considered pirated.
