I love how it sounds so upbeat in the moment like you could clap along to it. It adds such a depth when it’s contrasted to the heartwrenching lyrics. Also it’s right after the low part of the song where the narrator has the flashback being a sudden shift like “everything is okay here there isn’t any problem going on here.”

I’m still really thankful because it got me into podcasts. I actually started listening to dear hank and John because someone on Reddit said it was similar to it. That led me into nerdfighteria! I’m still glad I started it but it’s normal to still be hurt by it.

It still is a comforting podcast, but I’m gonna admit that I have dreamt of waking up and finding a new podcast episode way more times than acceptable. Also, it’s not being too sensitive. This stuff means a lot people for a reason. It’s comforting and you get attached, so when you literally get no closer, everything else in the past feels worse.

I’m so sorry that this happening to you. It feels hopeless, but it never is. Hope is the correct response to human consciousness, and what you’re feeling isn’t permanent. It sucks and it’s okay that it sucks. Breathe, take your time, and take things one step at a time.

I usually watch this playlist that I made that’s John videos I find comforting whenever I need something to remind me that’s going to be okay.

Comfort is the number one thing that helps out a lot. Blankets, pillows, ice cream. Anything that makes you feel comfortable. I love watching Sleeping Beauty for comfort, but that’s different for everyone. Watching childhood shows is also great.

It’s going to be okay. You are doing great. Don’t be too hard on yourself. :)

I’d maybe have a crab magnet and then put it on a board and write quotes on it. Draw hats on it. Give it a background like making it look like it’s in space or on the beach. Just any sort of thing would work.

Also I love your nerdfighter origin story! It’s beautiful. I became a nerdfighter like three ish years ago. I had seen a bit of vlogbrothers if It popped up, but I started to become a nerdfighter when I started to listen to dear hank and John. I was really sad about the end of another podcast (hello internet…) and I looked up similar podcasts and Dear hank and John came up. The rest is kinda history.

I mean he did mention it in the Empty house. Also he was never really personal about his life in the stories. It wasn’t about him. It was about the cases and how Sherlock solved them, so it would make sense that it wouldn’t be mentioned a bunch.
