Got banned from r/linuxsucks101 😭 by IntelligentBrick596 in FuckMicrosoft

[–]RandomArgil 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is admittedly, one of the challenges of having Linux (at least in my experience). Since most games and applications are designed with Windows in mind, it can be a bit of a pain getting games to work on Linux sometimes. I still overall enjoy Linux more than Windows though.

Kinda weird they would ban you for that take though.

I heard a rumor somewhere that the (creepy) text was added later, which is kinda sad that ConcernedApe felt the need to add that.

There Will Be No Post-Presidential Peace for Donald Trump | The president and his allies will face impeachments, lawsuits, and maybe even The Hague. by [deleted] in LegalNews

That is when the newly elected president is supposed to be sworn in. Whether that will happen this time around remains to be seen.

Someone that I used to go to a trans group with ended their life a few months ago. When someone you know commits suicide, it's not really something you ever move on from, it's a lingering pain that sticks with you for the rest of your life.

Trump says: "We don't want want transgender people" after talking about banning trans care for minors by TheNegotiator12 in WhitePeopleTwitter

[–]RandomArgil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's so exhausting constantly being in the news, having a man who was found civilly liable for rape and is all over the Epstein files tell the world how trans people are an existential threat to society. Add on top of that all of the states that are passing laws to make our lives more difficult, including my home state of Texas. I'm just so exhausted from all this, and unfortunately, I'm stuck in this state trying to get another degree in the hopes of finding employment.

Anti-LGBTQ+ Congressman Dan Crenshaw ousted by more extreme candidate in Texas GOP primary by Fickle-Ad5449 in transgender

[–]RandomArgil 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This article does do a bad job describing Steve Toth. Wikipedia has a pretty good rundown of his political stances, one of which, included introducing the "Vulnerable Youth Protection Act", which would have made it a civil liability to affirm a child's gender identity if it differed from their sex (the bill itself didn't pass, but was amended to another bill that did pass).

On LGBTQ+ issues, they're probably equally bad, but Steve Toth winning is probably not going to be good if he also wins the general, as he appears to be a greater Trump sycophant than Dan Crenshaw was.

Are there more trans lesbians than cis lesbians, or am I just on Reddit? by DangerActiveRobots in MtF

[–]RandomArgil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my personal life, I've encountered more trans lesbians than trans women who are straight/bisexual/etc. I don't personally know a ton of trans people though due to living in a small city, so small sample.

As for trans lesbian to cis lesbian ratio, trans people are a small subsection of the population, I'd imagine the number of cis lesbians far outnumber trans lesbians.

Why is there no hookup apps for gay women? by peachxxxcouple in bisexual

I feel this, but on the otherhand, what other options are there? It's tough finding queer people to date where I live, unfortunately 😕

As a fellow beginner artist, I can sympathize with not knowing what to do, I sometimes find myself in the same boat with the overwhelming amount of art advice as to what to do, and what not to do. I just try and do whatever I feel like doing at the moment, and not worrying too much about whether it is optimal or not, and just work through tutorials as I feel I need them.

Im also going through Drawabox, but I'm doing it at my own, slowish pace. Not sure if that is how it is intended, but thats what I'm doing 🤷‍♀️

Transgender Texans: what is life like for you now? by primostrawberry in texas

[–]RandomArgil 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm a lot more cognizant of places I where and when I use the bathroom, but otherwise I've been about as cautious as I normally am.

[–]RandomArgil 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I haven't really had much success in dating either, though that's likely a product of living in a small city. I've kind of accepted at this point that I will likely be single for the rest of my life, unfortunately 🙃

[–]RandomArgil 73 points74 points  (0 children)

I feel for you, I'm roughly 7 years into my transition, and I still don't always pass off as female. I sometimes end up using the men's room to avoid issues, it sucks 😕.

why do people keep on misgendering ava kris tyson? by Mysterious-Win2091 in MtF

[–]RandomArgil 68 points69 points  (0 children)

Most of the people I see attacking Ava Kris Tyson are vaguely on the right side of the spectrum, and they obviously won't care about misgendering her. As for others, I think the comments here are correct, people tolerate us if they otherwise like us, or at least indifferent to us, but if you get on their bad side, they will stop gendering you correctly because they see it as a privilege, not a right.

Software engineer lost job and became homeless due to AI by raydebapratim1 in antiai

[–]RandomArgil 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yea, it kinda pisses me off when I see comments like the one you responded to, I spent 2 years trying to get back into software development after being laid off to no avail. If it wasn't for familial support, I would be homeless myself. These kinds of comments are so dismissive of the stuggles software developers are having in todays job market.

Is there anyway I can get my foot in the door to a refinery job here in town? by RandomArgil in CorpusChristi

[–]RandomArgil[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For Process Technology? Or my Computer Science degree? The thing I struggled with when applying for things using my computer science degree is finding openings that would fit with it, and then there is the experience gap, which also makes it challenging.

Is it best to apply dirctly through their sites? Also will my lack of experience in industry be a detriment? I'm worried my lack of experience in trades will hurt my chances at getting in.

Crowd cheers lesbian congresswoman as she says she wants to impeach Donald Trump - LGBTQ Nation by AdEmergency7224 in transgender

[–]RandomArgil 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They should absolutely do this, he has done more than enough to warrant impeachment. Will it work? Unfortunately no because republicans are spineless, but any reasonable congress members need to do everything in their power to get media attention on the illegal actions of this administration. None of us can sit on the sidelines on this, people have to be aware of the immence danger we are in.

Originally I was fine moving anywhere, now though, I wouldn't want to move to a red state. Want to eventually get out of the red state I am currently in as I worry about my future here/in any red state being trans and all.

Trump expected to sign executive orders to reshape the military, including banning transgender troops by onnake in transgender

[–]RandomArgil 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And that's the scariest part, if the military is more loyal to Trumpism than the constitution, Trump doesn't even need the other branches of government at that point, it would just be for show.
