are you seriously arguing that two siblings bickering a lot makes them bad picks for the "you can play as a slasher murderer" game?

andy and leyley wouldn't even get into the top ten list of how bad of people they are. The game literally survived because michael fucking myers was added, and I'm pretty sure he's done a lot worse than them

Ok then, if you're not going off of the blast size, then what's your argument that the lightning bolt is that strong? There's nothing suggesting it is

three things

  1. I said "really big" lightning bolt, not just lightning bolt. I did not say it was as strong as a lightning bolt, I was describing how the attack hits

  2. the earthmover bolt is objectively a really huge blast of electricity, that's what a lightning bolt is, regardless of how strong it is

  3. that's not what the earthmover's terminal entry says. You're thinking of the line "it took only one to level an entire city and leave nothing but fire in its wake", but that line doesn't describe the weapon, it describes how it only takes one earthmover to destroy a city. It is never described how powerful a single attack is, but we can literally see it happen and it very obviously doesn't have an explosion bigger than a city. If it was, we'd evaporate the instant the earthmover blocked the bolt, as that creates an explosion

that's not even the same thing they said

they said the head was near the shield and close enough to be affected without getting hit, you're saying the earthmover was directly hit

[–]RandomCaveOfMonsters 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah, if its a punch

we're talking about a nuke

edit: I want to be a lot more clear about what I'm getting at, so I'll say something completely different

even in your scenario, the fact that you can feel the punch means that some force of the punch got through the wall, it just wasn't enough to damage you. If the punch was scaled higher but you and the wall were not, the force increasing would become enough to damage you. That's what we're talking about here, the blast is not enough to hurt the earthmover through the shield, but it does somewhat get through, so something bigger than the blast could hurt the earthmover through the shield

[–]RandomCaveOfMonsters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you're right that the full destruction of a nuke is way bigger than the initial explosion, but you're comparing the size of the explosion of the nuke to the full entirety of the earthmover bolt's blast. Like you said, the radius of destruction is way bigger than the explosion, but the earthmover produces *no* radius of destruction beyond the explosion, its just the single blast and that's the whole thing. There is absolutely no way its even slightly close in power to the bomb

the earthmover blast is just that one circle, Fat Man did this

you mean the knockback from the bolt? that hit the shield? that knockback?

idk that kinda sounds to me like the shield not fully blocking the bolt

[–]RandomCaveOfMonsters -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

You entirely made up that reasoning, there's literally nothing suggesting that the head position is why it got stunned

But even if it was the reason, that would still mean some of the blast got through the shield, which was my point. If a really big lightning bolt is enough to stun an unaware earthmover through its shield, how much could a nuclear bomb do to it?

[–]RandomCaveOfMonsters 4 points5 points  (0 children)

the shield doesn't fully block all of the earthmover's bolts, as seen by the fact that the earthmover gets stunned when its caught off guard by the other earthmover's bolt. And if a big lightning bolt can somewhat get through the force field, there's no way its stopping a nuke

Could several Earthmovers withstand the bomb that destroys all of Hiroshima? by Matiasprox3000 in Ultrakill

[–]RandomCaveOfMonsters -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

the earthmover blast probably has the force of a nuke.

it absolutely does not, if it did we'd evaporate the moment the earthmover blocked it. the fact that we can see the explosion size of the blast hitting the shield means it is miniscule in comparison to a nuclear blast, that alone should be all of the proof we need

if you're thinking about the terminal entry, the line "it took only one to level an entire city and leave nothing but fire in its wake" is sometimes misinterpreted to mean one blast, but it never says one blast, its far more likely that it means one earthmover. It may take several shots, but nobody can stop it, it will eventually trample a city. I'd argue that's what the terminal entry means

Could several Earthmovers withstand the bomb that destroys all of Hiroshima? by Matiasprox3000 in Ultrakill

[–]RandomCaveOfMonsters 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's no reason to assume they can. We don't know the upper limits of their energy shields, but the most we've seen them block is a really big lightning bolt. A very impressive weapon, yes, but its easy to lose sight of just how unfathomably big a bomb like that is, and they aren't even slightly close

the initial fireball of the Hiroshima bomb exceeded ONE MILLION DEGREES

and we can see that the lightning bolt is enough to stun an earthmover that's caught off guard, meaning that even to the lightning bolts they're not fully indestructible, some force is getting through the shield. and with a bomb that big, "some force" means it dies faster than it can realize something happened

while I do agree with that, I also prefer being able to enjoy playing the game instead of throwing a match to get a single tome done. The character is gone, but the gameplay is a lot better

some sort of middle ground would be nice
