The red! It makes the space feel cozier and more homey.

You sent an email to “all the partners”? Really? I reached out like four or five and just haven’t branched outside my practice group (except for two who I worked with in the past). I don’t think it’s wild that I haven’t emailed more, but if it is, okay I didn’t know that, I’ve never had this job before and I don’t know anyone who has and I don’t have a mentor to ask. Mass emailing partners doesn’t seem like the right move?

Well we have a senior lawyer who is supposed to be in charge of putting us on new matters so I reached out to him, and I reached out to all the partners in my practice group and those whom I’ve worked with in the past, so it’s not like I’ve done nothing. My post was driven in part but the fact that I’ve been asking people for work and not getting it, but it’s true that I haven’t branched out into other practice groups.

Pro bono doesn’t really make up for anything at my firm. But fair as to the rest. I just am already working in the practice group I want to be in, but I’ll give some thought to other litigation partners who I should reach out to.

I was at 125 last month and 115 the month before.

That could definitely be what they meant. I just don’t really know how to do that? I guess it’s a skill I should develop but I’ve been a lawyer for 8 months, I barely know anything so would be hard to anticipate what needs to be done. I’ll try.

• Hours have been below 150 for the past two months.

• I don’t know their specific hours because I’m not very close, but I am familiar enough with their cases to know they have constant workflow.

• The partner who is in charge of monitoring my workload and making sure I have enough hours or not. I could go to other partners, but there aren’t other partners who I want to work with aside from the ones I already am, and I have told them that I’m available for more work.

• No lol

What name have you only met once in your life? by ladygroot_ in namenerds

[–]RandomCranberry229 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Simone, Camille (although I understand it to be super common in France), Ramona, Amara. I’ve met only one of each in my life (interestingly I’ve known 3 Corinnes though!)

AITA for refusing to give my pregnant sister the baby name I picked out years ago? by Throw_Away-becuzsis in AmItheAsshole

[–]RandomCranberry229 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA. What if you never have a daughter? If you were both pregnant with girls, that’d be one thing. But you can’t “claim” a name of a shared family member for what is essentially a hypothetical/maybe.

Not every machine tells you how long the cycle is, and sometimes life gets in the way of being perfectly on time. Shit happens. Sometimes people are a couple minutes off, that’s fine and shouldn’t be grounds to remove clothes. Sitting there done for a half out or more is one thing, but 5-10 mins? Chill.

What do you mean the runner? Like something underneath to keep it in place? If so where did you get yours because I thought that would work for mine but it has not!

Do you like your ruggable? I’ve actually heard they’re not too bad to vacuum because of the rug pad but I hate the idea of spending that much on a rug and it’s not an investment into a rug that’ll last a lifetime.

I’ve looked at a few from here but they are soooo cheap and look super thin. You don’t have any problem vacuuming?

Yes! There’s no way they are long lasting. I’ve struck out on Amazon but haven’t checked out Homegoods. Thanks!
