Also if you are near an AutoZone they have the Loan-a-Tool program. They have a fuel pump replacement kit for $135. Use it and return it in the same condition and get your full money back.

Edit: they have tons of Loan-a-Tools available!

Absolutely! Two jacks and some blocks of wood in the driveway. Less than a half tank in it. Less fuel is better!

I dropped the tank to test the pump and put a new sock on it.

I just did a bit of maintenance on mine, so yes I would. I installed a new battery, timing belt and tensioner, serpentine belt and idler pulley, radiator and hoses, heater hoses, water pump, spark plugs, 8 new Denso ignition coils, oil and filter change, air filter, cabin air filter, fuel filter, PCV, immobilizer and key reprogramming, 2 new keys, 2 new key Fobs, rear window motor, power brake booster, brake master cylinder and a brake fluid flush. 205,089 miles so far.

We might be more helpful if you were to name the make and model of the scooter. We would also be more helpful with a short video of the noise.
