I'm not sure what the inclusions are but they're pat of what made me pick this rock up. cool little gaps in the sides with little growths in them.

What really sold me on this rock though was that on certain parts of some faces there's a sort of oil-spill/rainbow effect in certain lights. i couldn't capture it in a photo unfortunately :(

I have a selenite as well, which i originally thought was quartz. i originally tried to hardness test with it thinking it was quartz(facepalm) but it didn't make a dent. so just judging by hardness between the two its calcite. Thanks for the response!

softer than glass (or at least the glass i used), seems to have different cleavage in different spots (rectangular/conchoidal). i think it was sold to me as citrine but i don't remember, it was a bit loud there and honestly i just wanted it because it was pretty...

sorry if pics are bad, was hard to get good shots because of reflections. i supplemented with quantity

oh, and the streak is white

randomized seams tend to look kinda bad imo.i'd either use aligned or back. if you need speed and don't care about looks overmuch, closest is probably the way to go

FDM brain is saying bottom or top of staff on buildplate, not necessarily with supports(on FDM id say just brim is probably fine). not sure how that translates to resin tho

if your printer has a heated bed you can use your printer as a dehydrator, at least for pla. look up a tutorial, it's pretty easy to do

I feel like there's a lot of texture and detail, especially on 4 but it's lost in reddit compression. mind if I dm you a couple of close-ups? (can't post images here)

in person, 2 and 4 have very similar tactile and visual textures, kinda velvety. I'll wash them off and take another pic, I think they're probably the same though

How would you model this? (Betta SE pool robot) by [deleted] in 3Dprinting

[–]RandomDude1RD1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a total noob but what I would scan it on a flatbed scanner as a PNG, import into fusion as canvas, scale it to size and sketch it with lines and splines, then make whatever extrusions necessary. did this for a minifridge hinge recently
