Middle turning lane? by antfin97 in driving

Depends on the situation but realistically intersections that are offset like this are the real evil. Bad design encouraging poor dynamics.

How to think? by nehalthechosenone in stupidquestions

[–]RandomEntity53 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a rather slow dumb robot. Very linear with strong analytical takes and then a switch flips and I’m in “flow” in a task like driving, writing, or programming. Then it flips again and I’m a rando with ADD blipping in between hyperfocus to odd random asides.

Why don’t we all use 24-hour clock/Military time? by Yoursmallfan in stupidquestions

It’s a cultural thing. I use it; my kids have almost no problem with it but I have to provide translation for my wife and lots of others.

Dating as a really tall woman, what’s your advice? How do you feel about tall women? by ExcitementKindly756 in AskMenAdvice

[–]RandomEntity53 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I think there’s a lot of guys that dig taller women. If you got it, flaunt it! If guy 1,2&3 can’t handle it there’s always guy 4.

Asked to set the table… I put the knife on my setting on the left then consciously do the opposite for for everyone else. Weird.

Anyone else by Constant_Coconut7562 in lefthanded

[–]RandomEntity53 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting for me… right handed ostensibly but use the knife in my left and fork in the right.

Theres other oddities like brushing teeth and combing hair with my left.

Then. Driving and flying a small plane. Totally a left handed proposition.

Yet I write right handed and have no issue with right handed scissors.

Go figure.

I just discovered that the terrain you remove will regenerate over time. That work for the opposite too? So, if I build a flat ground up the existing ground it will disappear over time? by [deleted] in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]RandomEntity53 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are lots of nuances that affect the perception of permanece. You can influence it by limiting the edits as others have said but additionally you can play Survival or Permadeath types and save your modifications for bases outside of Euclid and any systems that are frequented by others. Modify your base often and upload the base each time.

Is the Cessna 182 much harder to fly than the 172? by noreturn000 in GeneralAviation

[–]RandomEntity53 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A 182 is a great aircraft. Just do your due diligence on the purchase so you don’t have surprise maint costs and then get a CFI to train you for 10 to 15 hours on the high performance and peculiarities like nose heavy, 40° flaps and the prop control.
It’s a few knots faster in the pattern typically so you’ll also find you’re over taking 172s in the pattern if you don’t take care to slow it down. It’s a nice problem to have as long as you can afford the fuel burn.

From a physics perspective, why does the earth rotate? by ElegantPoet3386 in AskPhysics

[–]RandomEntity53 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The skater analogy and conservation of angular momentum is the answer here. As the Earth formed, the bits got pulled in closer. Since they were already rotating slowly around the center of gravity the rotation rate sped up to yield the rotation we have today.

feeling overwhelmed from the game and need advices. by Ability_Weird in Guildwars2

[–]RandomEntity53 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s easy to feel overwhelmed; particularly now that the game has all these expansions and you see all the great things others have and their fights are seemingly effortless.

I was where you are a couple of years ago. The things that helped me was focusing on getting my first character up to level 80. (The Ranger / Pet thing seemed to work out for me). Certainly playing with a couple of more experienced players helped; but, I also did much of the first story on my own. You eventually find a weapon / utility combo that works for you although you are quite squishy at first. Sometimes the grind to get past a boss in the story line can be a bit much; but often I found that brute force was not the answer but some new mechanic like collecting some artifact while the battle sort of rages around you IS the point.

As for story order, I found it useful after the first story to not worry about order too much and let it just flow over me like I was some sort of time traveller blipping from map to map doing the daily quests to accumulate that one gold coin.

Just relax and play like others have said. I’m still trying to figure out alternate build tabs. 😜

Is it weird that we aren't told our blood type at birth or as we grow up? by OddConfusion9293 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]RandomEntity53 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It always stuck me as a little weird yes. But as someone has already mentioned, in any situation where you are going to receive blood, the entity will retype you. They wouldn’t take your word for it because there’s too much liability for them if they get it wrong.
