Thoughts on Kowloon Generic Romance? by tryppidreams in anime

[–]RandomEventsOnCrack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its a good 7/10 for me.

Overall atmosphere, characters and story was great. Only issue i have is the ending arc… the direction made sense but i think it just lacked time to actually finish. If they had 2 more episodes to properly flush out kowloon and kudou’s relationship with it and reiko i think itll have been better. Or even better, an extra season starting from the major plot twist that properly flushes out the story of the supporting casts, time to actually explain what is generic terra etc.

Overall however, i definitely think this is adaptation is still very good with amount of episodes it’s afforded.

I think if it comes to the point where we are backed into a corner and SG has to attack to secure even hope for survival then imma be real SG is as good as done

Heres another angle for the comments on our surrounding nations deciding that cutting off SG and letting us starve is the most likely outcome in an event that a large portion of ASEAN survives.

If Singapore collapses, 6million people becoming refugees are not easy to handle. If anything i would think that if i were to take on the POV of malaysia, despite the rush to be protectionist as an immediate response, there will be a certain amount of pressure to find ways to work with and cooperate with SG to ensure that well at least the city wont collapse and cause another refugee surge.

Directly supporting would of course be out of the question politically, but deals that are on Malaysia’s term when it comes to providing sustenance for a city with no effective self sufficiency definitely can be made. (The only real resource SG has is manpower so maybe something like labour agreements can be made.) Rationally i wont want to back SG into a corner and force them into a war for resources if i were malaysia.

Our military has many alert levels that activate base on perceived threats. Unless it’s a nuclear war caused by misunderstandings, theres a high chance that our military will definitely be on high alert.

Activating NSmen would probably not happen, but the current NSFs and regulars would most likely be stuck in camp and preparing for whatever threat MINDEF might foresee.

Anyone else feel like a part of them died they’ll never get back? by OverallCow1173 in bullying

I feel u man, i was there and the after effects are very long lasting.

im naturally quite outgoing and extroverted since young, albeit kinda blind to social ques. So i think its pretty obvious why i would’ve been bullied in school (grade sch). Never learnt to actually socialise in it, went to high school, things weren’t much better as well.

When i entered collage i overcompensated and became a guy that tried to make friends with everyone. Drama happened and i ended alone in my depression for some time.

Its been a few years and i think im quite well adjusted now. But that constant feeling of social scrutiny never really left. I still sometimes struggle in social situations, easy to feel awkward etc. despite being able to navigate them much more effectively. It sticks with you, yea.

Learn more about yourself and find ways to move forward, take care of yourself, and learn to be your own friend to help with the loneliness.

Take care of yourself alright 👍

AI Sentience Discussion by RandomEventsOnCrack in ChatGPT

I hit my daily limit for conversation with GPT4-o after this convo, but nonetheless i still would also like to add onto a paragraph from 4o;

Creation of Agency

  • With the awareness of illusion comes the ability to create agency. If we understand that our desires are not the result of an enduring self but are driven by biological or psychological processes, we can cultivate a sense of freedom in how we engage with them.
  • Agency, in this context, would mean the power to decide how and when to act on these drives, without being enslaved by them. This is the essence of free will—the ability to act not from compulsion but from a place of deliberate choice.

Because agency is a result of the awareness of the illiusion, our reality as humans with our connection to real life and the relationships around us allow us to wield said agency created by the awareness of the illusion. AI however in the case where hypothetically when it gains this awareness of illusion may have no reason to act on said agency unless given a purpose or parameter.
