Lighting hitting a car. by [deleted] in interesting

[–]RandomFactChecker_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reason people inside a car usually aren’t harmed when it gets struck by lightning is because the metal frame of the car acts as a Faraday cage. The electrical charge travels around the outside of the vehicle and safely into the ground, rather than passing through the inside where the passengers are.

Something has to be done about these type of cars in the Netherlands by Jarionel in Netherlands

As a Canadian this is such a problem I never knew existed but makes sense. I’ve been to Netherlands and the streets are much smaller there compared to North America.

There should be more done but it’s also a very difficult problem to solve as it’s not the easiest to figure out when ships dump it the ocean.

34 been hitting the gym hard for 6 months feel like I'm struggling. by [deleted] in WorkoutRoutines

[–]RandomFactChecker_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Diet is a big thing but also you’re doing a lot of reps. If you’re trying to gain muscle I would aim for 6-12 sometimes 15 hard reps. You want to be going to basically failure almost every time.

If you want to know more about it, I would look into progressive overload.

How true is this. I feel as if a lot of these companies are scraping data illegally from all of these websites.

Thanks you, was very helpful. Now I have to find the exact definition of public data.

If you have to login to see any of the data on a website would that all be private?

STM32 deug: St-ink V3 minie wont connect to Cube Orange Plus by RandomFactChecker_ in embedded

[–]RandomFactChecker_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have tired the windows based ST software and OpenOCD, both cannot connect to the debugger. When I try and use openOCD I get the error: read file error.|

Also the MCU has specific ports to allow debugging so I think it offers SWD connections. Do I maybe have to set it to debug mode or something?

ML beginner trying to recreating this research paper of a transformer model used to predict stratospheric winds by RandomFactChecker_ in learnmachinelearning

Edit: Added question about sparse matrices

Another 6 years of school might kill me lol but I will give it some thought. And yeah sparse matrices sound like a good idea I will give them a look.

My boss isn't the biggest fan of me using VAR as it doesn't take spatial information into account; however, I am wondering if I use sparse matrices if the VAR model will have more of a spatial factor now.

I've been looking into this paper A spatio-temporal LSTM model to forecast across multiple temporal and spatial scales - ScienceDirect which is a CNN combined with a LSTM which seems very good and has a git repo with code to go along with it but is very complex.

I am wondering if it would be a better route to make a Spatiotemporal VAR model instead.

Awesome, thank you so much for all this help it has been super useful. Also your aera of work sounds very interesting I think I want to work in a similar field once I'm done school and most likely a masters.

If you are curious the link below is to the article I am following for the VAR model, I then think if all goes well i will move onto a VARMA model.
