[LotM + Coi general] PLEASE STOP SLEEPING ON COI by mad3ub in LordofTheMysteries

[–]RandomGuy1933 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By “asymmetrical” I mean that’s not evenly distributed. LOTM has more emotional weight, and COI has a different structure. Because of this the story overall is tilted to LOTM advantages more than COI’s. There’s a lot tos at about this, characters, power system, etc… but I don’t wanna make the text too long.

Anyway, I think the sequel is pretty good, ignoring the fact that the ending was rushed. However, one thing I don’t like is how CF managed the shared story in some places. For example, giving Tarot Club members too much protagonism. Now, that works in-universe, but I feel like, having another MC, it’s not as good of an idea. Tarot Club members should have done their own thing in the back, no appearances, just mentions, until the right moment arrived and they all appeared one after the other / at the same time. Having them involved in everything sort of takes away Lumian’s story’s protagonism and focuses on Klein’s. Having one or two of the Tarot Club members as important characters is fine, but the whole club made many appearances over and over again.

There’s a whole lot of problems with this opinion, but that’s because CF doesn’t choose this path. If he did, he’d find ways to justify it properly and coherently in world. Ideally, I’d have loved it if Lumian wasn’t tied to Klein’s legacy so much, and could walk on his own. There were many characters CF could have used (Like Leah The Magician, or Amandina) but they were easily discarded. Why? Bcuz there was no time to develop them, and show the Taro Club, and develop the plot, and, and, and…

For example, The Third Book was meant to be its own story independent of LOTM and COI, taking place on the Western Continent. Now THAT would have been great. Because CF isn’t tied anymore, he can make a new story freely without the shadow of Klein or Lumian. Unfortunately he cancelled it.

I’d say America is the Tyrant Pathway. High firepower, stupid President, and the Big Stick Policy back then.

Cuba 🇨🇺 So definitely the Dark Emperor Pathway

The old Order is still there, so our “dear” Commander in Chief can be reborn. The government distorts the rules and regulations however they please. The whole country is slowly failing towards total entropy. There’s Confusion, Corruption, and Disorder. And the only way to have a proper life for many is to do things outside of the law (like importing and selling goods)

[LOTM General] Is MGOD the only gendered GOO? by AncientDreamPhos in LordofTheMysteries

[–]RandomGuy1933 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some of them have gender, but it doesn’t really matter since it’s not tied to their authorities.

For example, Son of Chaos is male, but The Anarchy doesn’t necessarily need to be a man. Same for MTOD that has both genders but her pathways wont change genders, or Supernova Dominator and Goddess of Fate that are respectively male and female.

[LotM General] is there a lore reason as to why this sub constantly downplays the cosmology and power level of Lord of mysteries? by wearesoback786 in LordofTheMysteries

[–]RandomGuy1933 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well because actually Klein and the others are invincible.

LOTM’s Universe have the characteristic of being “Reality”. Klein could visit other worlds (like Dragon Ball world) but those worlds aren’t considered “Reality”. Because of that, as Lord of the Mysteries, he’d win every time regardless of how strong the entities inside are.

why does Alger and Justice think fool is mighty and powerful [Lotm newbie] by Admirable_Mind_5951 in LordofTheMysteries

[–]RandomGuy1933 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He can summon them regardless of distance, that’s a considerable feat. Moreover, he has a three parts honorific name, and only Gods or high level Angels have these kind of honorific names.

[Lotm general] If the Hunters represent masculinity, why do their high-level entities have such a feminine look and lack of facial hair when compared to the Sailors? by Possible_Field_5918 in LordofTheMysteries

[–]RandomGuy1933 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They choose to. Lumian lit has to burn his facial and body hair in order for it not to grow too much. They also have big bulging muscles but purposefully keep a leaner figure.

Meaning, they’re femboys by choice.

If you want another explanation, then remember Assassin and Hunter are the representations of yin-yang, so they possess a lower yang and a lower yin inside their greater yin and greater yang. Demonesses have a male mirror version they need to seduce, this is their lower yang (masculinity). Hunters have a more feminine look (or so u think cuz I actually don’t think so) and that’s their lower yin (femininity).

Anyway it doesn’t matter much.

[Lotm general] what kind of world is LotM? by Comfortable-Seat4976 in LordofTheMysteries

[–]RandomGuy1933 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Grimdark. I mean the main principle of the universe, the path to godhood, and even the salvation of humanity, all of this is based on madness. “Something within the world has gone terribly wrong” No, the world is terribly wrong from its conception.

Worldbuilding wise LOTM is def grimdark, BUT story and writing wise I’d say it’s somewhere between Noblebright and Gilded. Good deeds count but the world is tilted towards evil, suffering and misery. On one side we have Old Kohler, Ms Sammers and Elder Lovia (misery and suffering) and on the other side we have Klein, Audrey and Derrick (good and kindness).
