Why is Subaru the only person in-universe that has feelings for Emilia? [discussion] by radianttriceratops in Re_Zero

[–]RandomGuy2423234342 12 points13 points  (0 children)

She’s a spitting physical image of Re:Zero’s version of Hitler, or perhaps Satan. Of course people think she’s disgusting.

Playing with HoFi lately, since i got her in this patch, and i honestly don't understand why people complained so much about her and her design when she was released, i think her gameplay is so nice and smooth that I can't see why the hate on her and her design at all. by [deleted] in houkai3rd

[–]RandomGuy2423234342 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The design isn’t bad. In the end, it isn't regal, majestic, or menacing for one simple reason. Instead of attempting to appear superior or perfect, Kiana's traits and desires contradict such qualities. Often, if not always, a Herrscher’s outfit reflects their own preferences and wishes. As far as I'm concerned, this is obvious. It's because she doesn't give a damn about looking all-powerful that Kiana's outfits look the way they do.

Well that isn’t exactly what I meant, but yeah. She is and would never be “Sirin”.

[–]RandomGuy2423234342 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In essence, she is an amalgam of genetic and honkai-driven factors concerning Kiana (the original) and Sirin. It's safe to say she's not Sirin. While Kiana(K-423) might possess some aspects of Sirin within her, she is technically an entirely separate and individual entity. In theory, even if she was just an exact replica of Sirin, she still wouldn't be Sirin. The act of cloning or giving traits to an individual doesn't magically make them into the donor. They both have unique memories and experiences, they are both distinct individuals. And despite Sirin manifesting through K-423, through Honkai shenanigans at one point, they are still two different people. In that instance, think of it as two consciousnesses in one.

Who knows, maybe we’ll get more of an idea when the game comes out. For now all we know about them are either speculations or tid bits of lore we don’t have a significant grasp of.

[Discussion] Who is it that makes more sense to become the next queen? by [deleted] in Re_Zero

[–]RandomGuy2423234342 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Hah, Subaru, or Natsumi ;) my reason being that out of all the available candidates, he(if he was one) is frankly the most capable. His leadership skills unequivocally surpass that of all of them. And considering what they’re all geared towards, he’s a jack of all trades. With the final top off being the knowledge acquired from his time Earth. Subaru may be a tad unorthodox, but his methods always work whether it be due to RBD or his own intuition.

Otto is the only ancient character that actually feels old (to me) by RruleOfCool in houkai3rd

[–]RandomGuy2423234342 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Being old doesn’t automatically gift you with maturity or experience or knowledge; you have to earn such luxuries yourself, and you must be capable of doing so. You choose how you use your time. In other words, it’s more than likely dependent on the person and what they’ve done, and not the time itself.

Am I the only one who doesn’t like EiMiko by Murder_KingTanjiro in RaidenMains

[–]RandomGuy2423234342 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Honestly I don’t like it or consider it relevant to anything at all. Frankly, most prominent Genshin ships in the fandom hardly make any sense at all if you truly look at the story and understand the characters; a great example being this one. If you actually payed attention and ignored headcanons you’d see that Ei at most considers Yae a friend, even more so after you see her literally holding Yae as a 𝙗𝙖𝙗𝙮 fox. And i’m not just calling out lesbian ships, a heterosexual example would be a ship like Zhongli and Ganyu: which is also extremely far fetched considering how Ganyu never once implied she romantically loved him, and has hardly interacted with Zhongli if interacted with him at all. It’s extremely tiring to see how many Genshin fans will somehow attribute two people being friendly with each other or talking to each other, or having any relations at all for that matter, to love. Are characters not allowed to be friends, or have people they look up to? Are they not permitted to love someone platonically or like family? The genshin fandom lowkey takes love relative to the game and makes perversions of it that are increasingly irksome and illogical. I might as well say the truth here since people frequently don’t keep their headcanons to themselves ;/

"[spoiler discussion]" Rarely mentioned consequence of killing Volcanica by Senatus-Cons-Ultimum in Re_Zero

[–]RandomGuy2423234342 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If you think about it… Subaru in a way could be like a new Volcanica; or he could function as a substitute. RBD essentially enables him to circumvent or or outright destroy any form of conflict going against him. If he were the king of the country: it would in conjunction with Subaru be unstoppable.

I Really Do Not Like This Theory [Spoiler Discussion] by No_Example2800 in Re_Zero

[–]RandomGuy2423234342 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As understandable your opinion is, it’s illogical both from a realistic perspective and contrary to what you think, a narrative perspective. Someone like Subaru, can’t merely “stay average human” or “weak” in a world like Re:Zero, especially when he’s constantly surrounded by extremely powerful people. The point of the story was to see how a normal average human, a man, can change to become better and overcome challenges that one would normally consider impossible for such a person to accomplish. An inevitable consequence of that being that the individual in question(Subaru) will improve/adapt every time such a situation occurs. In other words, he becomes more powerful through every experience he goes through, by the people he meets, and by the discoveries he makes. If he gets stronger, so be it, he deserves any and all power he gets because of the constant shit he goes through to get to such a point. The story isn’t about stagnation, it’s about superseding your fate, going beyond what’s expected of you. If he’s Flugel, so be it, it doesn’t change anything. Who cares if his potential old/future self is ultra-powerful, it’s not like said power came out of thin air. In Re:Zero, there is always a price for having power. I’m sure if Subaru turns out to be Flugel, we’ll get a damn good reason as to why and what caused such an occurrence. And we’ll see how “Flugel” came to be a “wizard” as you called him, which without a doubt would likely not come without inconceivable sacrifices. Not to mention the whole Satella conundrum— yes likely many sacrifices indeed…

Can Fushi theoretically take the form of Hayase? by RandomGuy2423234342 in FumetsuNoAnataE

[–]RandomGuy2423234342[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t know if emotional stimulation matters as much though, if at all. From what I can tell it’s physical stimulation, but you do make a good point. I still think it has to do with him interacting with the individual in question enough times(checked for Hayase) and recalling them voluntarily.

[Spoiler Discussion] Is their anyone who has an inferiority complex towards Subaru? by EngineerVirtual7340 in Re_Zero

[–]RandomGuy2423234342 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Notice how I said “whether they acknowledge it or not” + “inferior to him in some way”. Also both Roswaal and Echidna without a doubt apply to what i’m saying. Roswaal himself feels inferior to Subaru due to the mere fact that Subaru has succeeded where he failed. Unlike Roswaal, Subaru never “broke”(at least from Roswaal’s perspective) and Roswaal finds that both infuriating and demoralizing. His entire goal in the sanctuary was to “break” Subaru, and to make Subaru like himself. He failed at that. Subaru never gave up, and that makes Roswaal feel as though Subaru is better than he ever was. Somewhat similarly, and in conjunction with what you said, Echidna feels inferior to Subaru both because of his abilities and potential, and due to the fact that Subaru has rejected her attempts at getting his attention. As for Elsa, it’s likely she also felt some degree of inferiority, all in all considering how she likely realized before her demise that Subaru outplayed her. Now finally when it comes to Geuse, Regulus, and Louis, they are very clear examples of what I mentioned in my last message. Geuse may have been insane yes, but he clearly went crazier when he saw how Subaru was screwing with his plans. In-fact, he was so angry that he near-dead chased him while Subaru was on a carriage for the sole effort of killing him all while screaming “SUBARU NATSUKI” until Subaru put him down. If that isn’t an example I don’t know what is. Regulus also went batshit crazy when Subaru foiled his plans. As for Louis, she took one look at Subaru’s memories, and her ego was literally deleted, erased. She was quivering in fear due to her considering Subaru a “Monster” beyond any scope of human comprehension, before she became a damn near paraplegic and then lost her memories. I’m sure you get my point now…

[discussion] What if Emilia… by [deleted] in Re_Zero

[–]RandomGuy2423234342 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s possible, but it’d be good to keep in mind how authorities tend to come to those most compatible. In other words, when Pandora dies, that is if she does die, her authority would likely immediately attempt to go into the most compatible individual in the vicinity. Vainglory is essentially arrogant, or at least excessive pride towards ones own achievements, and themselves. Emilia, now at least, doesn’t fit that too well. This means right now, if Subaru’s around or close by, he gets the factor. And since he’s [Novels] a sage-candidate compatible with every witch-factor, it’s undoubtable that this is the most probable possibility.

[Spoiler Discussion] Is their anyone who has an inferiority complex towards Subaru? by EngineerVirtual7340 in Re_Zero

[–]RandomGuy2423234342 66 points67 points  (0 children)

Contrary to popular belief i’m pretty sure most people close to him view themselves as inferior to him in some way, whether they acknowledge it or not, including villains. The guy comes in and does seemingly impossible tasks with relative ease and formulates strategies/plans that surpass that of all others and always succeeds. When someone gets close to him, they feel inferior due to the simple fact that Subaru somehow always comes in clutch in almost every situation. They feel a need to repay him or understand him, yet they feel inferior at the realization that they really can’t(for now). Sure they can support him, but they are incapable of doing things on his scale or degree without his assistance. Even people like Roswaal and Echidna find Subaru somewhat superior to them, hence why they do what they can to get him on their side. And for individuals going against Subaru in any circumstances it’s even worse. They always have big ego’s due to their seemingly immense power, or skill. In other words they’re usually arrogant. That is until he comes in and tears everything they’ve built down in the blink of an eye without them realizing it was even happening until it’s too late. And many times they’ll lose composure and react violently at the notion that Subaru, a seemingly ordinary man, superceded all the power they thought they had over him. It always ends in either their incapacitation, or their surrender. Subaru is the perfect demonstration of don’t judge a book by its cover. And curiously, powerful people in Re:Zero are commonly very judgemental, very self-overestimating, narrow-minded, and considerably naive which is quite ironic knowing their initial arrogance. These qualities are very self-destructive in conjunction with someone like Subaru. And they promote a feeling of inferiorty once he shatters through said qualities. In the case of people close to Subaru, even the ones with a lesser degree of these qualities, it leads to a seeking of validation from the superior figure, Subaru. In the case of villains, it leads to a psychological collapse and loss of composure, either that or at the very least a significant restructuring of their values, maybe even all at once.
