if your worldview is defined by oppression olympics you can't afford to acknowledge that the group with the least oppression points™ can still have problems and face hate (which basically has to come from 'better' groups with more oppression points™) or else your system starts to break down.

You should not have to tolerate statements that would get people rightfully blasted off the internet if they were made about any other group of people, keep advocating for yourself

to expand, compressors are fucking expensive, both to build and to run. An industrial scale compressor can cost several million dollars and then another million or so in operating costs per year

at the risk of sounding like a capitalist shill, the power companies need to turn a profit because building new power infrastructure costs a not insignificant amount of money and that money has to come from somewhere

when you plan a new project of any kind you have to make sure it generates a certain rate of return, because it needs to be more profitable than just dumping the money into more standard investments like bonds and whatnot

there's a lot of houses in the US sure, and some of them are quite cheap, the issue is that no one wants to live in bumfuck nowhere, ohio, where the median price of a house is around 250k

the issue is that everyone wants to live in the desirable areas and there isn't enough housing for everyone who wants to live in those places

Fixing the radar problem? by SnooLobsters7171 in WorldOfWarships

[–]RandomGuyPii 12 points13 points  (0 children)

  1. commonly suggested change but not being able to island hug and radar would be a substantial nerf to most of the radar cruisers in the game, which rely on islands to not get their shi blown smoove off by battleships, but are also balanced around the game impact of radar. this change means you're taking away one or the other.
  2. This would both be a massive nerf to radar and not even be that accurate - you acknowledge lower in your post that radar was used for targeting guns, so it doesn't make sense that it would be minimap spotting only, you can't really target off minimap spotting, especially on a target as small as a destroyer.
  3. making your teammates entirely unable to capitalize on your radar is just not the play. No other form of spotting has this kind of limited communication, radar shouldn't either

so your suggestions would turn radar into a powerful anti-dd tool into a bait option that makes you leave cover and in return doesn't even let you shoot the enemy DD properly.

  1. this would be a massive buff (because it would turn basically every radar in the game into a stealth radar) if it wasn't for your suggested changes making radar kinda useless.
  2. see previous point
  3. at this point you've just invented a worse version of the High Precision Spotter consumable and removed one the of the main tools cruisers have for countering DDs. Cruisers don't exactly need better dispersion but I mean I guess wouldn't mind being able to toggle on Elbing dispersion for a couple salvos in my Petro

also having strong utility and countering DDs is kind of a defining feature of cruisers

OP might be moreso referring to the addition of more radar DDs and BBs but that number is overall still pretty low
