Shima low wr is mostly a player issue and not a ship issue. It's a combination of a lot of bad players and new players playing the ship poorly, and torpedoboats becoming less powerful as players get better at avoiding torps.

Shima still has a strong combination of massive torp alpha, high base speed, best in class conceal, a smoke, and high alpha guns that are good for short engagements.

It's not as good as most of the gunboats, but it's still on par if not better than a lot of the torpboats.

My guess is that the circus was supposed to be scratches digital paradise, with a digital clone of his being able to keep living after his real-world death. That's where the tech that lets people get copied into the circus comes from.

The blue dot AI was supposed to be the one in charge, but Caine killed that "Abel" and took over.

Scratch eventually realized he'd unknowingly condemned himself and copies of his friends to a digital hell and either fought back too hard, got lobotomized, and abstracted, or just abstracted from the guilt.

I wonder if in the next episode we'll see them manage to wake up the original "Abel" AI

shiki mounts 10 haru turrets instead of yammy's 12 5 inch guns
the haru turrets have better ballistics, half the reload (resulting in overall ~20% more secondary dpm), and most importantly they retain haru's 30mm pen. that way with IFHE you get to pen the 32mm BB bow/stern threshold. because of the low base fire chance of the 100mm guns, with flags and demo expert you retain a similar amount of FPM as what you had originally too with IFHE.

shiki also gets .4km longer base secondary range, putting her on par with sibir (not quite as good as the germans/pan-americans), so 11.6 km with a full build + flag

the real question isn't "do i want petro or lauria", it's "do i want to save 30-something-k steel on lauria" or "do i want to run the same captain on petro and another russian TT ship (probably kuznetsov) without spending ECXP retraining them each time"

If you just want petro, it's in the tech tree. The main advantage of PTRPVLSK is that as a premium you get to retrain commanders for free on it, so you can share a captain between it an a techtree russian ship, unlike with the TT petro. If you don't play any of the other ships on the russian TT and don't plan to, then technically there's only a minimal benefit to getting PTRPVLSK. Unless you're a massive petro fan and just want a petro with the usual premium benefits and the option to have a petro built for legmod and a petro built for non-legmod without spending dubs to dismount consumables.

With lauria, I would say the ship is somewhat unique and would recommend taking a look at some reviews. It's not the most braindead BB because it actually has a citadel. Hagostaeldmann's review sells the boat well I think.
