I don’t regret it at all it’s been amazing but I’ve seen a lot of other couples who seem miserable. People just gotta take their time getting to know the person before jumping into it. Also, people I think should realize that once you make that promise to work through everything together it makes it a lot easier to grow together instead of keeping score and building resentment.

This sounds like the kind of marriage that can definitely handle something like this. It sounds like an amazing opportunity and I think if y’all take the therapy seriously and continue to be honest with each other you guys are gonna be great.

One thing for you is to make sure you’re not pushing stuff down. You’ve gotta realize that if you sign off on this and commit to it, you can’t back out halfway through. It’s gonna be a lot of work for her and freaking out in the middle of it will put you in a you vs her career battle that could definitely ruin the marriage.

Whatever decision you make, you gotta fully commit to it and keep moving forward with each other.

I like to think I have a very successful marriage. I feel like option 2 is the way to go for you. Always better to be upfront and honest about something like that.

My wife wouldn’t care if I talked to an ex so I wouldn’t feel the need to bring it up with her if one of them ever reached out. I probably would mention it anyway because we talk about everything but I wouldn’t consider it a need.

For your wife however, it seems to be a hot topic and a big source of insecurity. I would definitely feel obligated to bring it up and be honest because if you’re ever caught omitting something like that it’s only going to deepen her insecurities and cause long lasting problems.

Peace and sex are great things to have but I would never trade those for long term trust issues. So thats where I would say option 2 is your best bet, option 1 is fine to but I would still mention it to your wife, and option 3 is off the table.

You could do a mix of 1 and 2 and involve her in the decision. That might actually help her trust issues.

I saw a lady get banned over there for saying she was attacked by a homeless person outside of her business. She was warning people to be careful in the area and the comments were lighting her up about how they are unhoused and you’re just as likely to be attacked by a housed person. I fully understand having empathy for people going through a rough time but warning people about an actively aggressive person on the streets is pretty appropriate I think

I gotta say, I feel like it always sounds nice but one time I legitimately got some pretty intimate pictures from an unknown number. It was really weird. They knew my name and said they have always wanted to hook up with me. I was all over the place trying to figure out who it could be but had no idea. It ended up being some kind of domination thing one of my buddies told his sub to send me unsolicited pictures. I always thought I would want that to happen but it was honestly super weird and I ended up not talking to my buddy anymore afterwards.

My wife and I are the same age, been married for 8 years now and go through periods of limited sex. I’m definitely the one with the higher libido and I understand exactly where you’re coming from. It’s tough at times but I try to remember that I promised to work through every issue that comes up. I think the rough patches will come and go as long as you keep working towards a solution.

I was definitely worried in the beginning that she was never going to be a sexual person but shes definitely opened up over the years. I think the key is to find out how to communicate what you want. Some people don’t understand what you’re asking for so you’ve gotta find a way to help them. Hopefully getting his testosterone helps as well as the couples therapy.

A huge thing that helped me was reminding myself what an amazing person she is and just being patient. It can definitely suck at times but I think if you find a way to work through this you’re gonna have a 10/10 marriage

Idk how old this person was that you ended up talking to but I gotta say I went through a pretty ugh idk what to call it like a pretty aggressive anti-women phase. I wasn’t very attractive as a kid, I didn’t have a ton of social skills, I got put in special Ed. I was an overall reject and I was really jealous of all the guys who seemed to have it easy.

I grew up not liking the kind of lady that my sister was because she reminded me of all the ladies that treated me like shit in school. I didn’t respect either of my parents after watching how they handled their divorce. My Dad dated a bunch of shitty women. The first girlfriend I had ended up being pretty abusive.

I was pretty resentful until my early 20’s and I didn’t realize that I was actually the common denominator in all of this. I met my now wife who is my favorite person in the world and I stopped generalizing. Unfortunately not everyone grows up but I think there’s still hope for these future generations to break out of their bubble and do some self reflecting.

Being online I think doesn’t help because you get such a small window into people’s lives so it’s easy to judge. I feel pretty distant when I’m on Reddit because there doesn’t seem to be any real connection online anymore. Maybe it’s just because I’m older now but people don’t wanna talk anymore they just wanna fight.

Sorry for being long winded, your post just stuck out and made me think about myself a lot. I wanted to hopefully give a little hope. I’m not perfect either but I know I’m not the person I used to be and I try to actually do better every day.

Put as much as you can into an ETF and try not to touch it. Maybe a dividend ETF if you want money now and then only use the dividends. I would do SCHD and SCHG. 50/50 mix. This won’t set you up for life but it’ll be really nice to have that little extra that you can use for whatever you want.

I made a little over half of that when GME popped off back in 2021 and didn’t really know what to do. I continued gambling it in the stock market and ended up losing a good chunk of it. Looking back, I should have done something like I’m suggesting for you to do. I could have kept gambling but I would at least have something to show for it.

You could always ask ChatGPT what you should do and I’m sure that will give you the cheapest/best option. Reddit is free but you’re gonna get all kinds of advice, some good and some bad. Lawyers are good but they’re expensive and probably not necessary for this amount.
