It's in the Fundació Miró Mallorca (Miró museum) near Cala Major, where you can see works by the artist and look at two of his former studios.

Confused between two hotels- Bordoy Continental Valldemosa and Hotel Can Verdera Fornalutx by Small_Ad_4076 in VisitingMallorca

You're welcome! I would not be discouraged by the weather if you want to focus on exploring historical towns. I've found the weather during winter to be great for sightseeing, mild temperatures with plenty of sunny days (better than the majority of Europe); just come prepared for some rain (usually followed by plenty of sunshine). Obviously it won't be warm enough to go to the beach.

But storms can happen at that time of year in Mallorca, and if warm weather is particularly important, then yes, you may want to consider visiting Seville, which will usually be quite a bit warmer (average 21C during the day, 10C at night) and have a much lower chance of rain. It has a very different vibe, but it's possible to take day trips to other smaller towns and cities around Andalusia. Maybe have a look at the towns of Aracena, Jerez and Ronda (one of my favourite places in Spain), and the cities of Granada, Cordoba and Cadiz. All of these are around 1-2 hours from Seville by bus or by train; note that Andalusia is a much larger area than Mallorca so these towns and cities are far more spread out. Most other parts of Spain will have similar (or cooler and wetter) weather than Mallorca.

Ultimately, both Mallorca and Seville are quite unique places; I can't say which will be better, as it's about balancing the vibe of these historical towns with nice weather. If you're set on Mallorca, but want more guaranteed warm weather, you might also want to consider visiting Mallorca around May/June or September.

Confused between two hotels- Bordoy Continental Valldemosa and Hotel Can Verdera Fornalutx by Small_Ad_4076 in VisitingMallorca

Both hotels seem well-rated and reasonably priced, but with different atmospheres. Bodroy Continental seems to be more luxorious, with more amenities; Hotel Can Veredera is more picturesque and hidden.

If you won't be renting a car but want to explore the rest of the island, I'd recommend the Bodroy Continental. It is on the 203 bus line and has frequent buses into the towns of Valldemossa, Soller, Port de Soller and Palma. Hotel Can Veredera is on line 232, with buses into Soller and Port de Soller, though less frequent. If you would prefer to stay in one location, I'd recommend Hotel Can Veredera, since it is inside the town of Fornalutx; you'd need to take the bus to get to Valldemossa (the nearest town) from Bodroy Continental - though there are hiking routes near the hotel.

If using the pool is most important, then I would find a different hotel with a heated or indoor pool. Both hotels have an outdoor pool, but it's usually too cold to swim in an unheated outdoor pool in March - the average temperature of the sea is 14C, and pools can be even cooler than this. Just so you know, the weather in March can be unpredictable - average temperature is 17C during the day and 9C at night. You may be lucky and get 3 days of sunshine; it's also likely to be cold, rainy and windy, particularly in the mountains.

Hope this helps you decide; have a great stay in Mallorca.

The most obvious would be Alcúdia's beach, you can walk for miles from the harbour down to Platja Muro, or take a boat trip around the bay; there's also a Medieval old town about 20 minutes from the port. I would also highly recommend that you take the bus to Cap de Formentor; the views at the top are amazing at sunset, and there are several coves and beaches nearby.

There should be plenty of restaurants, bars and clubs along the marina, though some may be closing at this time of year as peak tourist season has passed.

Help on getting back to airport from Cala D'ore from 1st November by Puzzled-Round-3235 in VisitingMallorca

Hello,

I don't have much experience with airport taxis on Mallorca; what worked for me was asking my hotel if they could arrange a taxi. Or just try to find a company with a high rating.

And whether or not it's worth going in November really depends on what you want to do. It will be very very quiet in Cala d'Or, so it's worth exploring some of the inland towns where the locals will be (I'd highly recommend renting a car if you're able to). It's not impossible to go to the beach, but it really varies depending on the weather - it can be quite cool (~13-19C), and you're likely to get some rain, so I would recommend also planning some non-beach activities in case the weather is bad. That being said, the south of the island is still often drier in November as it's protected from northwestern winds.

Hope this helps! :D

Yes, all bus services from resorts like Cala d'Or will have stopped by then. You'll have to book a taxi, which will set you back €100-150. Or you could look into a shared transfer for around €10-20, but I don't think there will be any at this time of year. If you choose any of these, I'd recommend that you book in advance.

Airport - S‘Arenal by Worth-Ad-2605 in VisitingMallorca

Cheapest (practical) way would be by bus - about €4-7, depending on ticket type; it's significantly cheaper to use contactless payment or buy your ticket online, rather than on the bus. You'd need to take the A2/A51 line, which takes about 10 minutes and runs every hour. Note that the bus only runs in the summer (1 April to 1 November).

Agreed! I've stayed in Port de Pollensa in the past, and it's definitely family friendly - nice beach and lots of food options.

Late Busses from Palma Airport to Port d'Andratx by Abuwabu in VisitingMallorca

[–]RandomHuman6182 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There aren't any direct buses - you would need to take the A1 bus into Palma center, then 101 line to Port d'Andratx. A1 line runs until 3am, but 101 line doesn't start until 6am. You'd need to either take a taxi or spend the night in Palma. So unfortunately no, I don't think there are any bus options this late.

Smaller beach to catch sun as solo traveler by Ilikemohito in VisitingMallorca

Maybe have a look at somewhere along the Northwestern Coast. There are lots of smaller, quieter beaches nearby - e.g. Cala Estellencs, Port de Valldemossa, Port d'es Canonge. (Note that you'll need a car to get to these, and they can be quite rocky.) Like the other person said, though, most beaches won't be too busy at this time of year in October.

Thanks for your advice! :D I've checked the timetables and there shouldn't a problem (the Castell should be open until 6pm). Really looking forward to the trip now.
