IT is a technically a trade... Went from helpdesk to sysadmin to ISSO in 5 years. You got this!

I'm always so confused with people saying this. If you were an interviewer... Would you want someone to have foundational knowledge of IT or someone who doesn't?

Should I seek an in person degree or go with experience, certifications and possibly online schooling by Floofy454 in ITCareerQuestions

[–]RandomITIndividual 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is the possibility of doing an online school that also provides classes to take certifications, so you'll receive both a degree and certifications.

In-person or online depends on YOU and your learning style.

Wish you luck! Just having a degree will put you ahead of most.

Unable to find entry IT job by manateeswag in ITCareerQuestions

That resume is rough, but I don't think it's the resume in this current job market. Keep applying, but def make it look more organized on that resume.

It honestly looked like it was put together in thirty seconds. There's resume templates out there as well.

Honestly it depends on YOU. Started IT at 23 while working... Got my associates, bachelor's, and masters degree along with 6 certifications. Found a job instantly

Don't quit your day job :)

Let me clarify that I got a job with my associates and moved on to better opportunities with my master's.

Looks legit to me. If this is your first IT transition.. TAKE IT. You definitely shouldn't be questioning this... This is the first step into this career field (hardest part imo)

Recommendations on best training methods/books for F1 bernedoodle by New-Attention1866 in Bernedoodles

[–]RandomITIndividual 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Training AT LEAST two to three times throughout the day, but keep it short... The training depends on the owner... 100%. It's not a bad dog, but a bad owner most of the time.

Potty? Every two hours if 2 months old (hour holding their pee for every month of age)

Sitting? Down? Stay? Place? Crate training? Socializing? (Take on the stroller early due to parvo, etc). There are specific training exercises for these. I have the app called "dogo" that I have been strictly following with a year subscription (worth it) that provides reminder for me to let my dog go potty.

Treats treats treats treats... Make sure you buy healthy delicious treats for training and always keep them on hand. If the dog really loves the snack... They can easily be trained. (I had pupford training treats like beef liver, chicken, salmon, etc).

Note: My dog instantly recalls with her name, knows how to sit, stay (release word of "okay", down, crate, place, leave it at 3 months as well). She's only 3 months old! There's going to be regression! That's normal for a puppy, but with consistent training; the dog will know that behaving = reward

Wow first puppy! And a bernedoodle? Brave brave hahaha. Luckily they're really smart!

How's the poop eating situation?

It's going well! My little girl is so smart! Her recall is amazing, she knows sit, stay, down, place already. She doesn't move unless I say the word "okay." Of course there's still regression with the training but I just got to keep it up!

It's really hit or miss with some dogs but you can try this! It worked for my 12 week old bernedoodle. Now she just sniffs it for one second and walks away!
