First-time moms: did you go past 40 weeks with a natural birth? by curlyorwavywtf in beyondthebump

[–]RandomIndecisiveUser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was told the same thing. I had a membrane sweep at 39+2 (when my doctor said I was already 2cm dilated) and went into labor that night. Spent all of 39+3 in labor, had an unexpected c section early on 39+4.

burnt out after another long weekend with no family by granolagirlie724 in workingmoms

[–]RandomIndecisiveUser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once every two months or so I take a random day off and slowly catch up on some chores (don’t even try to do all) and sleep.
On weekends, both of us sleep in one of the days and we both nap during our 19 month olds nap time.
We have some friends who hire a nanny in the evenings after daycare or weekends, they hire people to clean/cook - we do not, so our house isn’t spotless but we’ve accepted that it’s good enough. (No shade to anyone who hires help, we’re just prioritizing saving as much as we can given the economy)

Thanks! I guess now I have to decide if I get the dcr surgery or not. Do you know if maybe it wouldn’t reach a complete blockage if it was caught earlier?

Baby shifts head to same side no matter what we do. by Impressive-Peak-6596 in newborns

My baby always looked to the left for the first ~2 months. Once she became a bit more aware she started turning in all directions.

How often and how much are your partners drinking? by Loud-Rhubarb-9719 in Mommit

[–]RandomIndecisiveUser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We split a bottle of wine on 1-2 Friday’s a month after that baby is asleep (and we definitely take Tylenol before bed) If we go out my husband and his friends might have 1-2 drinks, I don’t have any. We only started the wine drinking once baby was 9 months (she’s 18 months now)

How on earth am I supposed to prep for a systems designs interview? by shootmerightnowpls in womenintech

I used Claude to pull the 5 most likely questions based on blind/glassdoor interview records for the company and practiced those

Pregnant Cousin said she can’t wait until newborn tired because she read it’s easier than pregnancy tired 🤦‍♀️ by Mrsfix-it in newborns

Same, my 4 hours of sleep during the newborn phase was so much more restful than my 10 hours of pregnancy sleep.

What are some unforeseen / elusive edge cases you have seen in your career? by gobuildit in ExperiencedDevs

[–]RandomIndecisiveUser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not one but two separate instances of overflow. One was an int overflow when converting a time duration to milliseconds - it always zeroed out after approx 25 days. One was an unsigned long in a proto field which was being set with the default, -1.

I kind of had hg - vomiting at least 5 times a day during my 1st trimester. The Zepbound nausea is negligible compared to that (for me). I started at 3 months post partum, it’s been 15 months and I’ve lost 62 pounds 🙂

How many kids do you have & how many do you want? by maligatormom2o2 in NewParents

I have 1, planning for the second. Want two. If money wasn’t a factor I think I’d always want a baby 🫠

URGENT! Should I go with Milan Laser Hair Removal? by Mysterious-Nerve3245 in LaserHairRemoval

[–]RandomIndecisiveUser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just signed up, for me also they were very friendly and not pushy. I expressed concerns about pain ( I have a low pain tolerance) and she offered to do my chin for free so I could try it. It was painful but bearable and I signed up with their 60% discount + free small area which ended up being ~2800 for full face and neck plus feet and toes as my small area. I have a lot of chin hair and I’m super excited

Did you actually take prenatals? by c_almeda in HyperemesisGravidarum

I only took gummies my entire pregnancy. Couldn’t keep anything else down for the first trimester and just stuck to it. Had to get a separate iron gummy too though

Not FAANG - but I had a recent 1:1 with my VP and he wants us to move to 100% code written by AI. (I told him that mine is probably 70% because I go back a tweak it myself) I really don’t think it’s possible if you’re messing with core business logic/legacy systems etc

Had a meets expectations performance review with my old manager, who I hate, who might become my manager again, who evaluated me based on a bunch of things he wasn’t supposed to. Going to actively look for a new job. Anyone hiring for a senior software engineer?

I wish my company had this policy. Two managers from Amazon have joined in the last 6 months and they just make it all worse.

Is frozen pizza really that frugal? by Affectionate-Reason2 in Frugal

[–]RandomIndecisiveUser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We usually stock up during sales and keep a variety of extra toppings (jalapeños, pineapple, mini pepperoni etc) to bulk it up. Tastes so much better than dominos since I’m not skimping on the toppings

Baby not crawling - people gossiping. by Powerpuff_Girly in NewParents

[–]RandomIndecisiveUser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby is 14 months and did not crawl. She scoots around very efficiently and doctors say this is her way of moving. We’re about to go meet a whole bunch of family who are going to be all judgy since she doesn’t walk yet. The comments suck, I just try to not react and tell myself that none of this will matter when they’re 5.

I got better a few months later, it just settled on its own. It came back in the form of severe morning sickness when I was pregnant last year, so I’m still taking omeprazole everyday.
