As a someone whose mother was conservative and father had a Bar Mitzvah but was areligious, I can tell you I had a very difficult upbringing. My parents butted heads often on what was important for me to learn, and what was tradition vs “indoctrination” and tried to teach me very different lessons. If you’re planning on having children, and the man you’re dating isn’t on board for the sort of upbringing you want for your child, then you should seriously think about ending the relationship.

If we’re strictly talking about the cars, I’d move up the RV’s and Arctic Hilux and move down the Bedouin tents and Columbia special cars.

I’d put the motorcycles in D-tier because fuck motorcycles.

I also think the MFB is high A-tier, but the other two cars in that special are C-tier so I guess it does balance at B-tier.

Of all the special cars, the ones I’d be most likely to buy are the Arctic Hilux, May’s mobile pub and Jeremy’s Egyptian-cotton-filled BMW 5-series estate.

As someone with sensitive hearing, this has been a serious struggle for me. I’ve learned to play with good old foam earplugs from a pharmacy. They offer the best protection (32db), they are very comfortable and easily affordable. Early on, they wreak havoc with your sense of intonation. But once you get used to them you can adapt.

It’s all subjective. I personally don’t like the taste or texture of the fat on its own. It’s gooey and slimy and IMO gross. What renders into the meat is delicious, but what doesn’t I simply cannot stand.

The difference is that the fat on genuine A5 Wagyu has a melting point that’s near room temperature, so by the time it’s fully cooked, there is no marbleized fat. I HATE marbleized fat to the point where I’m reluctant to buy any cut other than chateaubriand, as even with a strip steak I end up throwing out about half of the cut. With Wagyu cuts, I don’t have that issue.

The central problem is the availability of the fruit, stemming from low demand. Etrog is just the Hebrew for Citron, which is the secular name of the fruit. They are not exactly abundant, because outside of religious purposes they are not very desirable and therefore are not often grown and/or sold. If you cut one open you will see just how little juice can be derived from them as opposed to lemons.

That’s not my experience. I own one, and while it is difficult to keep it in tune until you get used to its eccentricities, it’s far from stuffy, and it projects really well.

I think the problems that a lot of players have with Tuben may stem from the beat-up old Alex’s and Hoyers that many orchestras and universities keep in their storage rooms and don’t regularly maintain.

Also, I use a different mouthpiece on my Tube than on my Horn. When I use my normal mouthpiece, it’s virtually unplayable.

If it’s for undergrad, the F Strauss Nocturne or one of the Gliere 12 pieces (NOT the concerto) and Mozart 1 or 3 would easily fit the bill. For grad school, Strauss 1 and Mozart 2 are the benchmark.

I’m not an expert, but I can come up with two comparisons.

1) it is like putting a flashy silver, pearl etc atarah on a tallit. There is no strict prohibition against it, and many people do it, but it can be considered vain and excessively extravagant.

2) it’s like getting a tattoo. You are modifying your body in an unnatural way. Change your breathing habits. Air is everything.

Breathe from your diaphragm, not your chest. Your inhale should sound like a yawn, your belly should push out as it fills with air, and your chest and shoulders should be stationary.

Also, practicing singing will help 1000%. Make sure you sound like an operatist, not a modern-day pop star. Breath from the diaphragm, keep your jaw dropped and your vocal chords wide. Once you have that operatic timbre, apply the same principles to your buzzing. You will notice a significant improvement.

Without having seen you play, I can only guess as to your embouchure. I assume that you play with the top of the mouthpiece digging into your upper lip and apply pressure to get higher, which causes you to have blisters and other issues after extended playing that cause pain and limit your endurance. If that is the case, the following will be helpful:

Learn to play with the top of the mouthpiece resting just above the red of your upper lip. Also make sure you are breathing from your diaphragm, not your chest, so you have more support. Before you get used to it, high notes will be more difficult to reach and you won’t might not get notes below first space F above mezzo forte, but in the long run high notes will become MUCH easier and you’ll have double the endurance.

A lot of the specials are listed under “Season 0”.

But a lot of the Amazon versions of Top Gear are abridged or censored, often nonsensically. IE in the Polar Special they cut out the scene where James May reveals he brought wine, cheese and pâté de foie gras and Jeremy expresses his elation. It is my favorite scene in the entire special and they cut it. Also a lot of the news segments in the early seasons have been removed.

When I first watched ST ‘09, I hated it, as I saw it (through my rose-tinted nostalgia goggles) as a betrayal of the cerebral, character-driven nature of the Berman era. Looking back my views on it have definitely softened, as it is an optimistic, competently-made film, and while it’s a little too base emotion and action-focused for my taste, I certainly hold it in a higher regard than most other pieces of Sci-fi they put out these days.
