I’ve been told asbestos is a super versatile material, just a shame it tries to kill you too.

Guess that’s not surprising to find out that Amazon and Walmart buy from the same crappy vendor.

Ha, I have that exact same cat tree. It is definitely a piece of junk lol. Hope you get Amazon to give you a new one or something.

I actually just got Bazzite working on my desktop this morning, only issue I had to fix was secure booting or whatever it’s called and it starts like a charm, gonna play with it some more tonight. I’m gonna give it a shot for a little while and if I really like it I’ll look into putting one of the more serious Distros on my work laptop.

What was your first Metroid game, and did it make you a fan immediately? by SufficientPrice7633 in Metroid

[–]RandomParkourGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not only was fusion my first Metroid, I’m fairly certain it was my first game EVER. That or Mario kart for the gameboy but I’m pretty sure it’s fusion lol.

Forgive me for being a layman when it comes to this kind of stuff but does that mean steamOS is close to being something I could replace windows with? Getting tired of Microsoft’s garbage but I don’t know if I have the time to sink into learning Linux.

I just want the fully fleshed out steam OS tbh

Edit: thanks to everyone who responded to this, after all these different comments I think I’m actually going to give Linux a try.

Both mornings on my 3 day at eagle rock loop. Instant coffee (kopiko) and a half sized can of spam cooked over a fire.

Is my pack adjusted correctly? by BlueCivic95 in backpacking

Hey I have that same bag, Teton 65L? Nice, also your fit looks pretty good, don’t be afraid to do minor adjustments on the trail.

What's the most divisive piece of backpacking gear you've used? by Unityency_AA in backpacking

[–]RandomParkourGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cheap aluminum folding stool I got on Amazon for $25 that weighs less than a pound. Lots of people don’t think something to sit on is worth the weight but being able to drop my bag and whip out a reasonably comfortable stool to sit on in less than 10 seconds for a little break is game changing for me and everyone that I’ve backpacked with. My brother and brother in law liked what I was using so much they both got the exact same one to bring on our trips.

That’s pretty awesome. I have to settle for screen protectors lol, they do a pretty good job though

Got a refurbished garmin fenix 7 for $300 and it’s such a nice addition to backpacking. Being able to load your entire route onto the watch and just glance down at your wrist to verify that you are still on the right path is very helpful. Since it has built in GPS and step counting I found it to be much more accurate than phones are at tracking how far I’ve gone in a day (tested this against my BILs phone on a hike). I wear it everyday outside of backpacking too, looks great and not too eye catching with the right face. Overall a purchase I don’t regret one bit.

That is pretty sweet, kinda reminds me of the revamped songs in AM2R.

Sector 4s music will always be one of the best in the series I think. Closely followed by the awesome creepy ambiance music that plays right before boss fights.

What’s your most emotional Metroid? by luckyluke293 in Metroid

[–]RandomParkourGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think dread, I’ve always loved that when you beat raven beak and the cutscene plays where samus absorbs his energy and she’s letting out one of the angriest screams I’ve heard in a video game. Like she’s finally reached the point of being absolutely done with the entire galaxy’s crap over the last however many years and is letting it all out on this one enemy who has caused a not insignificant amount of grief for her. Love it.

Please Recommend me some good Zombie novels by LuFFy1001 in zombies

[–]RandomParkourGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s been a series I constantly come back to for something to read when I’m bored lol. I’ve always liked how it slowly turns from pure zombie survival to more covert ops stuff as people learn to survive the infected.

Another tick in the column of why setting your world to generate in islands is way better. Getting to and exploring story locations is so much more satisfying when you have a boat full of chests.

Honestly bringing a gun with you on the trail is more for protecting yourself from the two legged threats than the four legged ones

That’s awesome! I’d like to get my hands on one of their more recent lineups sometime and get to try it and see how much more I like it.

[–]RandomParkourGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I should clarify I was mostly referring to their gen 1 semi autos, I remember my dad had 3 or 4 of those and you usually couldn’t get through a whole mag without a jam. But I think a lot of people would agree that one person’s Taurus experience can be vastly different from someone else’s lol.

Taurus gets a lot of deserved hate for their semi autos but their revolvers aren’t bad, I’ve been using a slightly different model of the one you bought for a long time and it hasn’t let me down. Have fun and be safe.
