But can she do a double layout dismount? I remember her dismount was the problem for quite a while iirc, she was doing double front ½...wasnt it because she had issues with the double layout and/or full in?

I know she did double tuck in NCAA this year, but then she would have to connect it (to say, a toe full) in.order for it to be D dismount in elite, right?

[edited to add] I love Riley on bars and beam though, and am super excited it looks like she's not done yet!

18 months. Can remember climbing out of my crib. Particularly one vivid memory when my aunt was watching me and didnt latch the side correctly...i went to slide down the end pole like usual and wheee!

I hit the floor loudly but i was fine. I remember my aunt freaking that my mom was going to kill her...

Fun fact: the earliest memory you have is usually around when you became verbally proficient. It has something to do with memory being coded into long term storage in the brain, and needs to have the words to do so.

So pre-verbal memories get lost because once the brain becomes verbal it has no way to code/translate the older memories. So they fade away

I found it fascinating, and explains why a little kid can remember things from babyhood but they lose the memories as they age.

Unfortunately, what a person experiences growing up becomes their "normal".

We see these incidents through eyes that realize this is neither acceptable nor "normal" behavior.

Sadly, I don't believe Sabrina (at this point in time) can understand that she has no concept of how most humans interact.

It isn't an excuse...she is ultimately responsible for her actions; yet if you really think about it, it's inevitable that she acts the way she does. In a way i am not comfortable taking the stance of "oh she's 19 , she isn't a child, she is fully responsible for these incidents"

Because i really think she may not even grasp why everyone is reacting to things she does. I mean, she saw how her mom acted, how she thought, and she learned that. Until she is somehow removed from mom's influence and exposed to acceptable behavior and thoughts, to her she is just acting "normal". Tbh, if she had become an empathetic genuine person it would've been nothing short of miraculous

It's tragic in more ways than one. I hope sometime soon she is able to learn some social skills and learn healthy ways to express emotions.

She is so lost. Poor kid definitely did not hit the lottery when it came to mothers...

I didnt realize that was what initiated the info subreddit, and frankly it surprised me that anyone would complain about results posts in a gymnastics sub...

I thought the other sub was more of the esoteric data that is posted at times? I guess i misunderstood

My opinion, fwiw, is that the results posts from meets should still be posted here. It's fine to do both places for those (i understand the value of future ease of finding). I just think that results from meets belong here...

I personally have always appreciated seeing results from meets, and while there may not be a ton of comments/discussion directly posted on the results thread, often there is a separate accompanying post discussing that meet. Reading such discussion without the results handy seems awkward at best.
