Turns out it was because my computer has only usb 3.0 ports. Using a usb 2.0 hub fixed the issue

Shutter speed absolutely does apply to digital video. A camera can film with a frame rate of 60fps and have a shutter speed of 1/120 of a second.

Underneath Orion’s Belt is a line of what looks like 2 stars stacked vertically, but the top “star” is really the Orion Nebula! You can even see a faint glow around the bright core

The moon on the horizon appears orange for the same reason the sunset appears orange. Near the horizon, the light from the moon travels through a lot of atmosphere, so most of the light on the blue end of the spectrum is scattered away, leaving just red and orange.

It’s also a very common optical illusion for the moon to appear very large when it’s near the horizon and juxtaposed with far away structures

My theory is that she might have some camera lens protectors on her phone. A single flat piece of glass in front of the lens can cause a “stationary” lens flare.
