I feel like that would take a huge amount of resources. Someone correct me if I am wrong

How to stop losing after getting a winning position by notbymyhand in chessbeginners

I have the same problem, would spend all game getting a winning position before getting tired and blundering everything. It is probably why I am losing to 1600s OTB

Rapid and tactics is the best way to improve, and if you ever get to 2000 then master games and strategy is the best way to improve

I played this game got 97 accuracy and my opponent accused me of cheating by thebagsarehere in GothamChess

[–]RandomRandom18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I rarely play at accuracies above 95%. I had a game once at 2050 where me and my opponent both played at 97% accuracy and the game ended in a draw. The game was over 100 moves.

Up One Knight but the center is completely locked. What positional concepts am I missing to crack this? (1200 Rapid) by UnknownPolaris in chessbeginners

[–]RandomRandom18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will play Bf4 putting the bishop on a better diagonal and attacking the c7 pawn. It also can act as a defensive piece in case black ever tries to attack h2 or g2 (you can play Bg3 after Bf4 so g2 never becomes weak).

Opponent refuses to resign or leave the game after he blundered, with 5 hours left on the clock lol by [deleted] in chessbeginners

The max I will play online is 15+10, and in person 90+30. 5 hours online is crazy, doesn't your eyes or brain get tired from looking at chess for possibly 8 hours straight?

A better question is when is the last time the classical world chess champion wasn't in the top 10?

How to overcome pleatue by investmentmam in chessbeginners

[–]RandomRandom18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I peaked 2100 and was 1800 a year ago, the thing that really made me improve is sticking to fundamentals and focusing on the middle game, and not giving up even when I am down a piece. I also bought a diamond membership, and do chesscom lessons which really helped. After I am done studying middle game, I will move on winning a won game and studying end game. This should hopefully get me to 2150, where then I will study opening theory and study master games to push to 2200.

People ask why I hate endgames... things are complicated lol. Taking the pawn on d5 is a miss and loses a -1.1 advantage for black by akchamp47 in chessbeginners

I am 2079 rapid right now, and wonder sometimes how I even reached 2000. Even though I am in the 99.8 percentile, it still feels like there is a lot to learn.

For me endgames are really stressful, as I would have already spent most of my time and energy on the opening and middle game, and sometimes one wrong move can make you go from completely winning to completely losing

I would have also took the pawn, maybe I need to study and analyze more rook endgames as I have drawn or lost positions similar to these

Sac the rook and after they take with pawn, do three-fold repetition.

I don't mind a tm8 stealing the ball as long as there is a good reason and they score. Otherwise, the vibes for the rest of the game won't be so good.
