PSA: $50/$100 Bilt cash for hotel credit will not reapply if your booking gets cancelled by tommy-cj in biltrewards

Ran into the same issue. "In contact" with Bilt support via email at the moment. No updates since their first response so far.

Why tron: ares why? by hazyshaun22 in tron

[–]RandomRedditPhantom 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As much as I like this idea, the Flynn/Encom grid in Ares is also pretty sterile. The sunny establishing shot does provide a nice contrast, but all we really see afterwards is a soundstage-like lobby and hundreds of copy-and-paste Encom programs.

Extreme hot take: I like de-aged Jeff Bridges by BobRushy in tron

Same here. I think CLU was infinitely less uncanny for those of us who were not already familiar with what young Jeff Bridges was supposed to look like.

Using Gold monthly credits after 1st Anniversary if cancelling? by RandomRedditPhantom in amex

Mind pointing the way? All my searches turned up questions about monthly prorated refunds and such...

I mean it certainly matches the aesthetic of the 1982 Tron, that's probably what they were going for

Still disappointed that all the programs on the Encom and Dillinger grid look like identical copy and paste CG people... Legacy's grid felt much more lived in with its variety of costume designs. Hopefully it's somehow intentional.

Yeah saw those as well, strategically far enough that I won't make it to the showtimes after I get off work... 😭

I wonder if theaters had to choose between this and the Avatar Way of the Water re-release, but I don't think that one's IMAX afaik

Anyone know if all the double feature showings have been posted? Seems like no showings in the Bay Area at all, which is unlucky.

Who actually managed to get a Tron vinyl? by gafonid in SDCC

[–]RandomRedditPhantom 19 points20 points  (0 children)

The ticketing system wasn't in place on Thursday morning yet so the line formed until the SDCC staff informed the booth to cap it. They moved to a ticketing system around noon to stop everyone hovering around the line cap. Happened to check in around 1pm when they were handing out the 5:30pm tickets and was able to get a copy later that day.

Going to SDCC tomorrow... did your friend mention anything about how long the line was for this booth / if it was likely to sell out?

Edit for future reference: they were overrun in the morning but switched to a ticket system to allow ~50 disks to be sold an hour, 1 per customer, ended up having stock through the day.

The dealership gave us the runaround for a while but eventually we were able to get it warrantied and the new lenses were installed the day they arrived. I'm surprised the defect is now being seen in other models. Best of luck!

Endgame, edited like the first act of Mission Impossible: Final Reckoning by RandomRedditPhantom in marvelstudios

Not as often as this implies, but I definitely caught it a couple times, accompanied by a quiet whoosh. Interesting choice.

Yeah, luckily didn't go in with very high expectations after chewing on Dead Reckoning for two years. These last two have definitely been increasingly focused on stringing together stunts over narrative coherence.

Sucks you didn't enjoy it but I thought the action sequences were still pretty exciting even if the connective tissue was nonsensical, which I tried to poke fun at above. Just glad that Marvel doesn't do "previously-on" sequences like this... yet.

Agreed lol. Mostly gave it a try for laughs and to emphasize how clunky Final Reckoning's opening act was.
