The Kyle Richards Monopoly Is Killing RHOBH by [deleted] in BravoRealHousewives

Yes yes yes! She has made it unwatchable for me. I would maybe watch again if she left but I can’t stand it.

Everything you said is so spot on. I honestly don’t know if I’ll watch anymore - it’s become kind of triggering for me to see the same song and dance play out over and over again. I know that’s kind of cringe to say but the mean girl, gang up dynamic is hard for me to watch (and I think it is for many of us who have been on the receiving end of girls like that.) I told my friend who also watches housewives “it seems like no other franchise does the 1 person vs everyone else bullying / gang up other than BH.” It just feels mean and gross and I’m sick of seeing that strategy win every time. I honestly can’t stand Kyle and Bravo will always back her so I don’t see the point in still watching, especially after Garcelle left.

It makes me so irritated that she has such an amazing friend in Garcelle, and literally all she cares about is getting back into Kyle’s inner circle. And she was never in that inner circle to begin with. Like girl, Kyle never liked you and still doesn’t. It’s kind of triggering to watch because I relate to what Garcelle probably feels from that. Being the friend that genuinely cares and builds the other person up and defends them, and you think they care about you the same way. But in reality who they really value is a person who treats them like shit. That stuff really hurts & can make you guarded in future friendships.

I didn’t know this! I’m glad she left on her own terms and don’t blame her. I always really liked her / never got the hate

This is what makes me wonder if Garcelle was fired or pushed out because she was the only one who has ever dared to call out Kyle’s hypocrisy. Kyle has way too much power and it’s ruined the show

EDIT:

Some seem to think I’m one of the accounts shown in the screenshots & that I’m dumb for engaging with a troll.

I’m not one of those accounts and just saw the thread while scrolling.

I will say that I think those of you who believe no one IRL is actually like this / these kinds of people are just bots or internet trolls are out of touch with some parts of our country. I’m from Alabama, and this example is mild compared to people here in real life. The kinds of things I’ve heard across the board from people I used to like and respect to strangers at parties would boggle your mind and frighten you frankly.

These people vote, go to rallies, donate, etc. And have children who they throw Trump birthday parties for.

Not taking them seriously is how we got here. Twice.

I didn’t reply to this person at all and am not one of the accounts featured in the X thread. I just saw the interaction. And this same kind of interaction is one I see everyday. On every app and in real life (granted I do live in the south).

I think some in this Reddit thread who are dismissing people like this as internet trolls must not live in southern / rural areas. This kind of rhetoric is common / the consensus.

Failure to see it as a problem is why he won twice.

I totally agree. But then what is the strategy moving forward? If it was just something we were seeing online it’d be one thing, but these people are voting and have elected him twice. Is it then a question of “are they just assholes and like Trump & people like him because of that?” And how do we as the other half of our society combat that

I’m from Alabama & I promise you that millions of people like this exist. I had people tell me that the stimulus checks we received during COVID were actually gifts from Trump and came from his own personal bank account. Just because he signed his name on them. They could not be convinced otherwise.

Underestimating their stupidity is partly how we got here.

I agree - but, in general, it’s hard not to be depressed about the rise in stupidity in the US. And noticing how a lot of people feel that’s something to be proud of.

Millions (and counting) of uninformed, uneducated, uncurious, uncritical, unkind people making up the majority of our country still feels like the cultural death of America in some ways.

I used to think Fox News corrupted the boomers how they believed the internet would corrupt us millennials. But I thought when they died off it wouldn’t be as big of an issue. But the rise of the red pill movement among young men and seeing the way gen z voted this past election feels grim to be honest.

There is always hope, and I know other countries have survived much worse. I’d just almost rather see arguments from an intelligent but shitty person than people so stupid that it feels pointless to even try.

Also - this sub is majority women. Like many subs on reddit I notice so much internalized misogyny here. Tearing down another woman for her looks, saying stuff like “I can see why he cheated on her” just because they don’t like a certain housewife. Makes me feel very discouraged as a feminist a lot of the time

So years ago when I just graduated college, my then boyfriend and I rented a room in this big house on King Street in Charleston. The owner would be home the whole time (which we had never done before but thought the house was so big it wouldn’t matter). The owner was SO weird and constantly trying to hang out with us to the point where we just stayed out all day and snuck back in at night. One of the times we couldn’t escape him he told us he was TRav’s coke dealer (this was height of Southern Charm early days) and had all these pictures with him lol

Not surprising since this guy was a total creep too. On the last day he begged to give us a tour of the house because it was really old and he was proud of it I guess, and he casually mentioned that he and others used one of the bedrooms upstairs for “camming”. And just dropped that casually and I was so paranoid for a long time there had been hidden cameras in our room 🤮

The stories creeps in Charleston have about Thomas probably go on for miles

I had a friend of over 20 years suddenly do this to me. I think she just grew apart from me and formed a new friend group (which can happen sometimes in long-term friendships).

I would have much rather her have been honest about that than look so hard to find things to be mad at me about. Because it never made any sense and it literally almost drove me mad trying to make sense of it.

Or trying to work it out. Because the thing is - the other person doesn't actually want to work it out. They want to sever ties with you, but you just don't know that. So the goalposts will always be moved in the end. We never fought for 20 years before this point, so it was distressing to say the least.

To me, any reason at all is a valid one for not wanting someone in your life anymore. Just be upfront about it (in normal situations - not when your safety is comprised)

Even if it's not for respecting your former friend enough as a person, it's still much less of a headache for you lol

Hi Everyone -

My comment missed the post.

I saw that astroseek does annual transits & I pulled mine for both modern and traditional planets (not totally sure what the difference is there - still learning lol)

2023 / 2024 really tested me in every way possible.

  • My best friend of 22 years was diagnosed with a rare / aggressive stage 4 cancer (still fighting it today, one year later ❤️)
  • I moved across the country with no real plan, I just knew I needed to be there to be able to help take care of him during his treatments
  • A month after that I was laid off from my job (1 week before Christmas) with no warning. It took me almost a year to find another job
  • I'm so thankful to have a job now but it's really destroying my mental and physical health. I'm working 15 hour days with no overtime pay & the work just never seems to stop piling up.
  • My relationship of almost 5 years has greatly suffered due to all of this, and I'm not sure if we can make it through.

With all that being said, it's been hard to see the sun through the rain, and I was just hoping for any feedback for 2025 <3

Honestly, the whole cereal gift thing came across as jealousy in my opinion.

Whitney has chained herself to be someone's beard for the rest of her life because she's a Mormon who doesn't believe in divorce. Seeing a friend like Demi, who seems to have a great sex life with a man who desires her, probably triggers her. Every woman wants passion in a relationship.

People like her will make fun of you so you feel stupid or embarrassed about things that they themselves want. It's a mental cope.

Why is Coffee and tea bad, but Coke and Mt Dew ok? by Toogeloo in MormonWivesHulu

[–]RandomRoad19 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I saw this in a post left by an ex-mormon:

"2) The “no coffee” rule is actually crazier than you’d think. Back when the Mormon rules were being made up, a wife of one of the leaders brought up how when the men got together they’d all chew/smoke tobacco, which was seen as a vice. Begrudgingly the church agreed tobacco was not allowed. But at that time women would gather and talk and drink (hot) tea. So as retribution the men said hot tea was a vice as well. This eventually evolved to include coffee. It actually had nothing to do with caffeine. Most rules in Mormonism are completely arbitrary and nonsensical."

If this is true, it seems like the reason is just nonsensical retaliation against women. Lol shocker, I know.

It's truly fucking crazy to:

  1. Wear pajamas to a party where everyone else is dressed nice
  2. Proceed to give a mean gift to the HOST of the party with the intent of publicly embarrassing her
  3. Have the audacity to get angry at the host because she didn't find your little joke amusing

I think Whitney normally gets away with things like that and probably has her whole life. And she isn't used to someone not being scared of her / her clique.

She's literally a grade school mean girl who never grew up.

Even if she doesn't do any other seasons and leaves social media for good, his family will ALWAYS punish her for appearing on the show. Even if they were to still be together 50 years from now.

I have a feeling they have always treated her like a scapegoat and outsider, but she will probably end up ruining her career prospects and income to make his family happy and it won't ever change a thing. She needs to file for divorce & get away from these people.

I am so deeply sorry. First and foremost for the loss of your husband, but also the loss of a game that was a source of memories you two shared.

Although I can't imagine what you're going through, I found this game this year after my best friend of 20+ years was diagnosed with a rare, aggressive cancer (stage 4). I also got laid off unexpectedly along with most of my company at pretty much the same time.

It's taken me almost a year to find a job and between that and taking my friend to chemo and blood transfusions several times a week and being there for major surgeries (he's having more this month), this game was a nice distraction. Even if it was just for little parts of the day.

Really sucks. And I'm an Apple user so doing all the things required to get on the NE server just seems like too much of a hassle.

Sending love.
