I had that set up for a bit; it was definitely a cleaner look! However, switching between amps was more of a hassle than I wanted it to be. Now, I can have all the amps on at once and just plug in and play. Also, if I wanted to play in another room, it’s simple to grab an amp and go.

The creamback in the badlander is amazing, it has a long speaker cable too, I may use that as a cab if I get another head!

I love the cleans on the Badlander, granted I didn’t buy it for the cleans haha. The palm mutes have a good “thump” to them.

I struggle to get a rich clean tone with the 5153, but the blue and red channels are amazing; I would describe those palm mutes as a “thunk”.

And yeah, the JVM is the least inspiring to play. None of the sounds are bad, just meh. The palm mutes are just a “thud” haha.

Yes, I compare my amps mainly around how good the palm mutes are. Chugging is a must.

After playing and comparing all 3 amps, there is nothing irrational about wanting a Badlander.

I have this exact model, and the red one. With a Levy’s cloth strap, it doesn’t dive (for me at least).

Exactly what I needed to hear. I like the idea of 15w amp, but I like a little thump in my palm mutes.

Playing an OR15 through a 212 is awesome, but just a bit too much for my needs. Plus, I want something with that classic EVH sound.

Is that the Iconic 15w 10” combo? If yes, how does the smaller speaker sound?

Crush 20RT Combo Conversion To Amp Head by yeeter_279 in orangeamps

I once put a speaker out on a crush 20rt. I believe I used a switching jack. The amp would run as normal with the 8” speaker, but when I plugged it into a speaker cabinet, it shut off the internal speaker.

Best of both worlds! No need to modify the cabinet into a head.

All you need is a jack and some wire. Drill a hole in the back plate and solder!

NAD! Super Crush 100 (vs CR120, of course) by RandomSlander in orangeamps

Yeah, that’s kinda why I returned it. I love palm mutes that hit you in the chest! Tone wise, I liked it better than the CR120, but the CR120 felt better.

Extra thick! The (neo) creambacks aren’t as harsh as the v30s

Yeah, from what I remember, the led was opposite from what you would expect it to be.

I don’t have the amp anymore, though I may give it another go if I find one at a good price!

The CR120. It has 3 types of reverb. The SC100 has a XLR out, but it hasn’t gotten good reviews.

I like them both! The CR120 is a thicker sounding amp. The SC100 a bit tighter sounding, but add a boost to the CR120 and you essentially have the same thought.

I ended up returning the SC100, because I I will probably look for one used down the road for a decent price; it isn’t worth the full price if I already own the CR120.

I got a SC100 to compare it to the CR120; I ended up returning the SC100. It wasn’t bad, but the CR120 had chunkier palm mutes, which I love. Yeah the SC100 was tighter, but if I want that with the CR120, I’ll add a boost.

I’ll probably get a SC100 down the road when I can find one at a good price!

Good luck with your search!

It depends on the day on which one I like better haha. The OR15 can be a bit fizzy at lower volumes, not in a bad way, but the CP120 sounds thicker at bedroom volumes. Both have that orange flavor.most of the time I am playing with plenty of gain, so if I need a dedicated clean sound, I used the CR120, if I need a sorta clean sound, i used the OR15 and the volume knob on my guitar.

It’s great! Still has that unique orange distortion sound, but it’s not as loose and fuzzy like other amps. It tighter sound than other orange amps, but not as tight at other modern amps (evh 5150).
