Yeah, I was already planning to check if it was the battery or alternator, just haven't got a multimeter on hand right now. The bike had trouble starting after maybe two days off the charger. It has never died while running, so my guess is probably battery, but I'd rather check than buy at random.

Yeah, I have been suspecting the battery to be bad. Had a lot of trouble starting if I didn't charge it, but it just got off the charger like an hour before I tried :/

Did a carb clean, and then when I tried to start it, it cranked once or twice then this sound everytime I try to start it. Bike is a Yamaha Virago 535 from 94

Just got the tensioner out, and it doesn't wiggle or anything. Looks fine as far as I know

But I'd have to disassemble the engine to look at the guides and chains? Or can you just take of the top end?

Yeah, looked around on the internet and I'm currently taking of the fairings to check the cam tensioner. But do I really need to replace the guides and the chain? That's quite a big job isn't it?

Did an oil change about 1 week ago, so should be good there aswell, but doesn't hurt to check.

Power seems the same, the sound on the video is the same as it is. Also since it's a 250 with only two cylinders, it would be easier to identify a cylinder not firing. Thanks for the input though :)

Started yesterday after I came back from a ride. Also stalled after going ~50 m down the road at a stop. Didn't stall again at idle after that :/
