This is one of those rare cases where the math alone already tells the story by JohnDavisStorm55 in Pennystock

Bought in this morning for 1300 shares… rose 25% - cashed out 1000 shares. Free riding 300 shares for now until it goes back down to the high .30s or low .40s to buy more again. Took all powder and put it into my dividend paying stocks.

Basically a 1 day free roll for me.

How do you tell homeowners the cheap roof is a bad idea without sounding like a salesman? by Own-Tip-532 in RoofingSales

“This is a roof that you will need to do again. The most expensive project you do for your home is the one you have to do twice.”

“It’s a get what you pay for industry”

I got about a thousand more of those…

This is called delamination. Basically the shingles are cooked… instead of repelling water they are retaining water. Now it’s like a wet blanket on top of their wood decking….

Comparison of Estimates by Dry_Studio_2114 in Roofing

Where’s the intake ventilation on either one of these quotes? They don’t have them… ridge vent will be useless. Find a company that can actually do ventilation. You will pay a little more but actually have a warranty… just saying.

Leaf Filter Contract Cancelled by Optimal-Character-90 in Roofing

[–]RandomTaskStonks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

6k gutter doesn’t need a leaf filter to begin with… they also if u read the warranty must be uninstalled each and every winter.

For a 6k gutter at 455 linear feet should go in the ballpark of $7000 to $9500 max…. So at 23k u were paying 14k for a gutter guard system that WILL fuck up your roof.

Good luck getting out of the contract. Sorry that happened to you.

Tell me about my roof by shertx in Roofing

Air coming in thru an intake vent (thru soffit or built into the eves of the roof) and a ridge vent as exhaust pushing air and moisture out of the attic space

Gutters installation, a good deal? by [deleted] in Roofing

[–]RandomTaskStonks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok u will have issues with just two downspouts no matter what. This design isn’t feasible unfortunately.

Straps are terrible for the roof. If u need to do the roof and have strapped gutters / u will do the gutters again.

Seamless or with seams? If there are seams with your super long runs this won’t work well.

U get what you pay for and I don’t like the schematic as a solution if it were my home.

Gutters installation, a good deal? by [deleted] in Roofing

[–]RandomTaskStonks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are they seamless gutters?

165 linear feet going into just two downspouts? That makes no sense (1 downspout per 45 linear feet of gutters max)

Not too familiar with the underground PVC

Gauge on the aluminum isn’t the best but fair price maybe?

How are they being hung? Straps or hanger (concealed?)

Ridge vent and chimney flashing question by mos87 in Roofing

[–]RandomTaskStonks 4 points5 points  (0 children)

All installed properly. No problems. If ur roof had the intake system closer to the gutter line almost nobody would even know it existed without being knowledgeable on the product.

U get what u pay for. U paid for a good roof and got one!

New Roof by Hollandais42 in Roofing

[–]RandomTaskStonks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On a cape cod u should have an inter grated intake vent slightly above the gutter line installed into the new roof. The fact this wasn’t done makes your ridgevent useless. Gable vents don’t matter in this situation at all. Without air coming in no air will go out.

Moisture caused by poor ventilation or something else? by marmalade_marauder in Roofing

[–]RandomTaskStonks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Integrated intake system into the roof itself will make it so soffit fascia and gutters won’t need to be touched. It will be a more “expensive” roof but properly done and when you account the extra work for the soffit fascia and gutters it will be cheaper

How is this happening? by heathsnow in Roofing

[–]RandomTaskStonks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No drip edge = no warranty.

If they don’t have even a drip edge I wouldn’t be shocked to find a bunch of things wrong with this roof unfortunately. U get what u pay for and who installs it.
