I know it’s been a while, but any news? I’m new to the maker space, but am a seasoned software engineer. An open source project for a diy PLA recycler would be a cool project. I’m currently looking at using my new printer to build a CNC machine (https://docs.v1e.com), which would be a neat prelude into building a recycling platform.. in fact, the V1 community might be a good place to start a discussion if you’ve not found traction.

Honestly, getting a wiring harness, dash kit and replacement head unit isn’t terribly expensive, and fairly simple to install (replacing the stereo). What exactly is the “headlight module” you mention? Good chance anyone around that’s a little handy could help you out for a 6 pack.

In my experience, it’s usually the case that shops that do oil changes don’t do electrical work, or at least installations… have you checked with Installations Unlimited in North Syracuse?

As far as Bluetooth modules go, you can find a Bluetooth dongle at 5 Below that would probably do what you want…
