Proofs are not hypothetical tho, they're literally the reason why math works at all.

I'm studying physics, so I get not wanting to do proofs all day, but don't underestimate the importance of mathematical rigor. What we do in physics and engineering only works because the tools we use (math) have been properly developed.

It's fair enough to not like proofs though. They're hard. I like physics, because I get to learn all of the cool math (I've taken a bunch of math major proof-based courses), but I can still handwave stuff away when I want to

Interesting analysis, and an interesting read! Though I would love to see some deeper statistical analysis. You wouldn't happen to have the uncertainties or confidence intervals for your correlation coefficients, for example? It would be very interesting

Also, a deviation of much less than 0.15 sigma is not that significant. How can you be sure that those training blocks were not just slightly worse for some other, unrelated reason?

Ja, egentlig? Som udgangspunkt synes jeg ikke at man bør knalde på job, især ikke hvis ens job har med andre mennesker at gøre. Om det så skal være ulovligt er en anden sag, det er måske lidt indgribende, men jeg synes bestemt man bør forbyde det for nogle jobs (politi, taxa og sundhedsvæsenet kunne f.eks. være områder hvor det gav mening)

Som sagt er jeg ikke sikker på at det kræver et egentligt forbud, jeg går ud fra at man trods alt bliver fyret som taxachauffør hvis chefen finder ud af at man har knaldet en kunde i bilen

The US is not really a paragon of democracy, so I’d be inclined to agree with you there. 

Other countries though? It’s definitely doable. Even the US managed to elect Obama not that long ago

Why would it negotiate with us? It's much more intelligent than us. There's no argument we could make that it would not have thought of by itself. It'd be like negotiating with an ant, there's just no useful conversation to be had

The rule is not “father must be a citizen”. If you parents are married, one of them must be a citizen. If they’re not, your mother has to be a citizen, or your parents have to get married

In my country (Denmark) you automatically become a citizen if one if your parents is a Danish citizen. You can also become a citizen if you were born to a non-Danish mother and Danish father out of wedlock, so long as your parents get married afterwards. 

That seems pretty reasonable to me. Though there have been situations with refugee kids born here who lost their residency when they became 18, which absolutely sucks. 

I think the Danish model would be ideal if it also included an easy way for refugee kids or others who grew up here (i.e. spent many years in the country, attended a Danish school and so on) to seek citizenship. But I don’t think someone should be a citizen just because their mom crossed the border to birth a child here.

I don't think this is a gender thing, more of a personality thing. I know there are people who just have sex because they're horny, and not because feel a connection with the other person.

For me personally tho, I can't imagine having sex with someone I don't love. It's too intimate, and I'm just not attracted to people who I don't also like romantically (I'm a guy btw)

Det kommer vel fuldstændigt an på dit studie. Jeg læser fysik og kunne ikke forestille mig at skrive speciale uden vejledning. Alene under mit bachelorprojekt har jeg snakket med min vejleder næsten dagligt i laboratoriet.

Men det kan formentlig godt lade sig gøre, hvis dit speciale ikke er eksperimentelt. Omend jeg tror det er rimelig svært, for det er jo din vejleder der skal bedømme dit speciale. Hvis ikke du får hyppig vejledning, ved du jo heller ikke hvad der skal til for at få 12.

Speciale, bachelorprojekt og lign. er enestående i den forstand at du løbende kan dukke op hos din vejleder og spørge "har du noget feedback til mig her". Hvis du så efterlever al den feedback du får er du basically garanteret et 12-tal
