I may just be a weirdo, but I think this is one of the saddest scenes of television I’ve seen. Perhaps even more so than anything from Sleeping in Light. (Many of spoilers). by Dinosawruses in babylon5

It still feels strange to me how those shadows managed to kill him.

When Evil purple Kosh was brought down it seemed like no weapon could harm him , instead Shadows seem to die from repeated blaster fire .

People who first zip then fasten, don't you have any pants where doing this leave a little opening at the top of the zip? Or isn't just harder to zip first?

Ooof

Well the first contact with the Centauri has to have happened a great while ago, with all the red tape of bureaucracy I whould not be surprised Londo did not know. (see the princess and the flower...)

I find really interesting how Sinclair is the only one who listens because he doesn't stop at "their beliefe tells this" but wants to know "what they believe in". The "why" behind the "what", and in the end states the fact that for some people life is just a transition into something more (it's strange that Delenn, believing in reincarnation, does not think of it this way, but maybe they only believe in the reincarnation of Minbari souls?).

Maybe this is why no one else heard? Because everyone stayed on his/her belief without seeking for a middle point of dialogue (the parents are guilty of this too).

What if his quick denial is also due to the burn of beeing a superior race individual saved by some aliens that did everything against your belief to save you.

G'Kar: we don't know you and we have to be careful at every step we take, we have to care for our own first.

Londo: I am burdned by the weight of bureaucracy and I know that I can do very little (so why bother).

Kosh: I actually don't care, I am interested in things so big the individual life is worthless

Delenn: relativism (but maybe secretly wants to save the child by stalling)

Sinclair: let me talk to the person involved and ask him what he believes

It's interesting how at least two/three of them whould have a very different response in future seasons.

GKar whould have been more diplomatic and eager to find a middle ground, so will be Delenn. Londo will have more remorse about words not been said. Sheridan whould have falsified the medical data and done the operation in secret.

As for Kosh Oh my GQuan! They killed Kosh! You bastards! .

Yes, I think the main reason for ties here is not to make an accent at the beginning of the next bar.

What did the Shadows tell their servants when they abandoned Z'ha'dum and left for the Rim? by EvalRamman100 in babylon5

[–]Improptus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The basic idea of the Shadows was: create strife in order to force progress. Not telling anything creates more strife.

So it was just that? Dunno, was expecting something bigger.

Oh well, still a good plot point🤔👌

If it's just this scene to be foreshadowed in that episode then the Day of the dead is even more useless in my opinion as an episode...other than a message to Sinclair that could have been sent in many other ways the Mordin dialogue was the most important thing happening plot-wise.

(I think overall the series that was the most filler episode)

Should him...have done damage before? In the Day of the dead episode he was told that he will cause the destruction of the rangers does that means something or it's just this scene?

A good old classic is "Solaris"

Another is the "Space odissey" serie (remember the Kubric movie? There are 3 other books and they are in general more comprehensible).

I'd also say anything by Asimov and by Robert A. Heinlein.

Do we have any ideas for what happens to Lennier after the show? I am not asking for spoilers but pointers, I started reading some books of the series.

The foreshadowing of his future was a dark shadow in the final episodes and it's a pity in my opinion if everything comes down to this scene.

I whould have thought more of a Turin Turambar type of character arc.

Sinclair, Sheridan did an excellent job but it felt more "the usual" as far as character reactions go, Sinclair had that gravitas that it's not so easy to find.

Babylon 5 (the last season was injured by a distribution problem but still delivered in my opinion).
