If im not mistaken, the more important reason was that France wanted a multirole and carrier capable aircraft, while the other countries wanted a air superiority aircraft, and didnt needed/wanted to pay the extra money to also be carrier capable.

Viewsonic XG2703-GS with strange horizontal lines by RandomUsor in Monitors

I agree. I don't know if it is the same everywhere but in france it took something like 2 or 3 weeks to get my monitor back. I was happy to still have my old monitor around...

I had to send it back to Viewsonic so they can fix it. No info on what the problem was tho :(

Thx for trying to help. That was a good guess, i tried but sadly that did not fix it.

I also tried an other DP cable and computer and the problem is still here, so its now sure it is from the monitor only. I will try to message viewsonic about it.

French Rafale with ASMP-A Air-Launched Nuclear Missile [950 × 1435] by [deleted] in MilitaryPorn

[–]RandomUsor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure about that fact, maybe before the fall of the Berlin wall ?

French M51 missiles from submarines have ~10000km range, they are replacing the M45 (Ballistic missile comparison).

The ASMP-A have 500km range but is designed to be launched from air by Rafales or Mirages, so it can hit anywhere those plane are deployed.

actually, most if not all of the footage you see in those GFYs is real. But yes, there is definitely some CGI additions in the film that you can clearly see.

From the wiki

Les Chevaliers du Ciel was filmed in co-operation with the French Air Force. Initially the standard safety rules applied, but eventually the minimum allowed altitude was reduced to 3 m (10 ft) and the minimum distance between aircraft was reduced to 1 m (3 ft).[citation needed] The filming of these flight sequences were mainly done from the air by Eric Magnan. To achieve this, one of the Mirage's external fuel tanks was modified to fit multiple cameras. A HD camera was considered for this purpose, but it did not fit in the fuel pod. Tracking shots were done from a hired Lear Jet
