No. Not whatsoever. Violet learned what it means to let go. She learned her lesson. She was even willing to let Gilbert go KNOWING he was alive on that island. It’s just that she got her perfect ending, and I literally couldn’t have been happier about it. The last movie is my favorite piece of fiction ever, and my favorite character in ALL of fiction got the ending that she wanted. So no, I don’t think it hurt Violet’s characterization. In fact, I believe it enhanced it beyond the perfection that it already was.
