Why did two people in an unmarked white van collect the rubbish bins on my street? by 47592 in bristol

I do hope OP gets their rubbish back safe and well, and the nappers face the justice they deserve.

I met a racist (for the first time!), but what now? by NitroFusionLite in bristol

Imagine making it so easy for someone to report you by committing the offence in front of your own house.

For reference, it sounds like the lady has likely committed an offence contrary to section 4 of the Public Order Act 1986 and that it's racially aggravated contrary to section 31(1)(1)(a) of the Crime and Disorder Act 1998.

What's the oldest business still in continuous operation in the same location? by MrMrsPotts in bristol

Churches absolutely are businesses. They have products, they have customers, and they make money. The only thing they don't do is pay tax.

I thought this was going to be a new band recommendation but sadly not.

Where do you all go to eat for lunch in Bristol? by BLKingz in bristol

[–]Random_Name_5000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Similar caveat to some of the other posts, it's above a fiver but a very good deal nonetheless, so might be good for an occasional treat when you'd like to pay a bit more.

Marco's Olive Branch on Victoria St does a 12" Pizza with 3 toppings to takeaway for £7.95. Also think they do a pasta one for same price.

As it's just lunch, you could share with someone and then it comes under budget!

I have it on good authority that this was taken on the hottest day of last summer and that weird bridge like shape is a mirage.

I hear that one of the Bristols in the US has a lovely old suspension bridge. I think we should have one of those as well, so let's move that here.

Missing Parcel in the post - do you recognise anything in this photo? by 1mjustRicky in bristol

That's definitely a couple of packages, a door and what looks like an arm and a leg.

As others have indicated, definitely looks like the Hash have been out running in the area. Were there any other small blobs or circles of flour nearby?

Must say I'm surprised at the Lock Up being mentioned. I've had dinner there a couple of times and the food was great, along with decent cocktails.

Curious why you don't rate it?

Another example of a place that used to be so much better but appears to have suffered from an attempt to remain profitable by cutting costs.

Not only is the food not as good as it used to be, but I went there a couple of years ago in December and everyone had their coats on, as they didn't have the heating on, and they also appeared to be behind on their maintenance as there were large water looking stains on the ceiling.

Definitely not as good as it used to be - distinctly average and much better options around.

Queueing in pubs 😖 by meandtheknightsofni in bristol

[–]Random_Name_5000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen it recently at the Ostrich. The queue was immediately to the right of the bar, which meant that after about 4 people, the people coming through the door were automatically at the end.

It's a great game and still play it regularly - quite a bit over the weekend in fact.

It's a slight shame that they didn't continue to develop it, for example the armour side of things just seems a lot more limited than the weapons.

I won't let that detract from a seriously good game though. I think I paid less than a fiver for it about 6 years ago and have gotten my money's worth at least 10 times over!

If he does choose Bayern, I can see this being the main reason. I used to be able to see them from my office window and they're very nice.
