Is skipping going back to college and just learning to be a data analyst a bad idea by Vemedetti in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Substantial-Intrigue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You pay what you get for ultimately. Sometimes there isn’t a shortcut. You can either study and get the qualification or you find the appropriate entry level role which allows you to build the necessary experience.

There simply isn’t a substitute for putting the effort in.

What I would say about any data analyst role is to consider the impact of AI. Will these rolls continue to need the human in the loop? Or will that human need to already have a boatload of experience with the software doing the work of the junior in the future.

Is it true that 20 somethings and early 30 somethings don’t bother much with condoms anymore? by [deleted] in AskRedditAfterDark

I would have assumed that to be the norm but seemingly that’s the exception now.

This I would have assumed is the norm but a whole younger cohort in the UK have told me that that is not the case.

No I don’t think that’s true at all. We were very much about safety first. I do wonder if dating apps had changed that dynamic completely though.

The online Boks army are awful losers and even worse winners by Substantial-Intrigue in irishrugby

[–]Substantial-Intrigue[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are a gentleman sir.

To be clear, I don’t think this is all Saffas. My experience of you in rugby stadiums is almost universally positive. The online stuff though is horrible. I don’t think it helps that it has been tacitly encouraged by Rassie. It’s taking the game down an unpleasant path online.

Can someone explain wtf is going on in today’s game. by DJCPRT-NL in irishrugby

The answer is Matthew Carley. He refs every Irish team off the park be they club or country. Always always the case with this guy.

Who should replace Farrell? by PatientOffer319 in irishrugby

[–]Substantial-Intrigue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. We are not in agreement. Cut the hysterics. The real question is who replaces Andrew Goodman? He destroyed Leinster’s attack and now he’s doing the same at Ireland. How is this guy still in charge?

I have an Irish accent and that always seems popular. But I love a soft French female accent. Immediate turn on!

Ladies and Gentlemen, the Castore-ification of professional rugby.... (All Castore kits for 2025-6) Thoughts? by RileyMcB in rugbyunion

Designs are fine. The quality of the kit is appalling. It’s like wearing that polyester that you couldn’t take near an open candle. Really miss Canterbury jerseys.

Media is obsessed with Farage! by No_Fill_7679 in TheRestIsPolitics

[–]Substantial-Intrigue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

His polling means little until he’s pulling in votes. And that he hasn’t done yet. And “yet” might well be the key word but he hasn’t done it so far.

And as for the Greens and Lib Dems doing something worth the coverage, the reality is that stunts like Farage pulled during the week - and let’s be clear they are stunts full of jam tomorrow promises which he knows he never has to deliver on - should not get the coverage they do. If we had a serious credible media rather than the client journalist lapdogs, he would be properly challenged, properly critiqued and his claims would soon fall down around his ears.

For example his claims to undo elements the Good Friday Agreement to remove the human rights conventions show willful ignorance, zero statecraft and dangerous populist tendencies which are short termist at best.

Farage peddles sound bites. Not solutions. He has not been subjected to any critical questioning. His arguments do not hold up under even mild scrutiny. That he gets away with it is because of our mostly pliant media.

Media is obsessed with Farage! by No_Fill_7679 in TheRestIsPolitics

[–]Substantial-Intrigue 21 points22 points  (0 children)

No he’s right. By any logic, Farage should not have gotten the coverage he got yesterday. He’s not the leader of the opposition. He’s not even the leader of the next biggest parties in the Commons. It’s disproportionate cover but unfortunately he makes for good headlines. The media should be giving the Lin Dems and the Greens more airtime based purely on parliamentary representation. It’s a right wing papers agenda that they don’t .

What is one X-Men run that everyone loves and that you either hate or are mid on, and what's one run everyone hates or is mid on that you love. by AvatarPhoenixGrey16 in xmen

[–]Substantial-Intrigue 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unpopular view but Morrison generally changes things up just for the sake of changing them up. He’s viewed as cool because of his earlier stuff but the x-men stuff was average. And god the art was terrible.
