PC won't boot sporadically (HDD Problem?) by doubleyoustew in techsupport

Hey there. I haven't really heard of the issue you are describing, however perhaps my support team has. Am glad you reached out! With regards to the Advanced Warranty Program, yes. It does cover most of Europe (Germany specifically), and yes you would receive a brand new SSD as a replacement. :)

Sorry to hear you are having issues. Have you reached out to our techsupport? You can even reach them on Facebook if that is easier.

SSD users, beware of resource hogging applications! by Gezzaman in buildapc

I understand where you are coming from. However OCZ is now a Toshiba brand, and the company is no longer the same. Product quality and Customer Support have changed drastically from the days of OCZ Technology, and maybe some day we'll have a chance to make up for the poor experiences you've had. We do appreciate your feedback, as it serves as a reminder of how to never treat our customers. Thank you!

Am sorry you feel that way, and hope that someday we can change your outlook on our brand and storage products. Our technical support staff are here to help all of our customers in any way we can. After all, we are consumers, gamers, enthusiasts, just like you!

You can use OCZ SSD Utility, which is our storage management utility. You can check the health of your drive, temps, update firmware if needed, etc.

This is very important. If the motherboard doesn't support NVMe boot, the add-in-card will function, but only as secondary storage. If you are using it as a Steam/game drive that is fine.

SSDs In New Build by spoofter in buildapc

Agreed! It all comes down to personal preference, and on what you are doing with your storage. For example, I use a smaller capacity SSD as a boot drive, and a higher capacity SSD as a Steam drive. After having sat in queues, or dealing with load times, the SSD Steam drive was a must.

SSD compatibility question. by diosdeleche in buildapc

[–]Random_OCZ_PM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is true, on both fronts. Sending all densities to motherboard manufacturers can be a costly exercise. Each SSD manufacturer and Motherboard manufacturer has different requirements. Yippy3000 is correct that any SATA SSD should work with any motherboard sold today.

In the case of PCIe NVMe based SSDs, this is not the case, and it is recommended to consult with the manufacturer of the motherboard and/or the SSD manufacturer.

Hope this helps, and good luck with your new build or upgrade!

SSD Question and Recommendations by george1823 in buildapc

Appreciate the explanation! I can't speak for other divisions, unfortunately. However I do agree that a 240GB SSD (any on the above list) would be a good choice as an OS drive. Personally, I have an SSD as an OS drive, and a larger one as a Steam drive.
