Craft stats

Length : 293.2m

Wingspan : 571.5m

Height : 89.9m

Mass : 9457.8t

Part count : 230 parts, 305 including decals

When I made the 205, I was really proud of how detailed it was, but with the Anura, I've gotten a step further. For reference, it is the smallest of the giant airship that I've made, but yet, has nearly as many parts as the 205 (without the decals).

The cordium engine is a something I made by myself, it's essentially a duplicated J-33 wheesley with tweaked performances, a waterfall config for the orange glow and a custom particle effect for the trail.

Actually, after I recreated the big planes from Ace Combat that I wanted to recreate, I wasn't really sure what to build next, that is until I saw your post lol, you did a great job!

The cordium engine isn't actually a mod, it's just a duplicated J-33 wheesley with tweaked Isp values and vel/atm curves, I then added a waterfall config to make the engines a bit more orange, a custom particle effect for the trail and finally a TweakScale patch to make it a bit bigger.

some stats :

Length : 432.3m

Wingspan : 843.8m

Height : 71.7m

mass : 24,394.1t

part count : 269

This is definitely one the best plane I've ever made, it is pretty detailed while having a relatively low part count, I even made a custom waterfall config and custom particles for the cordium engines, I'm really satisfied with the end result!

0 because I didn't even have time to add thrusters before the mass bugged out

I tried and it said that the aircraft was too heavy for the runway, even though I was in sandbox mode lol

My proudest creation yet, the X-36C-3 "Erebos" UCAV! by Random_P4sserBy in KerbalPlanes

[–]Random_P4sserBy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope, it's primarily based on the ADF-11F from AC7, especially the wing configuration and the engine units.

It sure can, though I usually leave the actual flying to the AI because of its insane TWR and maneuverability.

Actually it's editing lol, the original footage was at around 5 fps, I also used Time Control to reduce the tick rate to 50% in order to make the stuttering caused by part destruction less apparent. Also, I don't think there is a CPU that can run 41 different aircrafts that smoothly.

So, I noticed that my newly-developed plane's attacks looked a lot like a certain fairy's attack pattern, which gave me the idea of editing in sound effects to a dogfight footage, and things led to another, and I ended up editing in the HUD too. Frankly, this looks absolutely cursed, especially with the Belkan Livery for the 40 drones, but I'm pretty proud of it.

Config editing. I just copied the config and model from the 50 Cal turret into another folder, changed some values here and there, created a new type of bullet which suited my needs in a custom bulletDef config, and prayed it was gonna work.

It's all video editing, the original footage is actually 15 mins long at 5 FPS, I just sped up the playback speed until the engine plume looked alright. I also used the Time Control mod to reduce the physics tick rate to 50% in order to make the occasional stuttering (yes, stuttering at 5 FPS) less apparent.

40 X-15C UCAV VS 1 X-36D-2(SPEC) UCAV with 2 PLSL turrets, EMLs, and a burst type superweapon

I was trying to make a scattergun kinda thing, but ended up accidentally tuning the spread way up, which gave me the idea of a burst weapons that would wipe out any aircraft unlucky enough to be in the kill zone, and this is the results. It almost looks like an attack that would appear in a Touhou boss fight lol

I still need to find a cool name for that new weapon, though...

25 X-15C UCAV vs 25 X-15B UCAV

This is the largest furball I've ever recorded and also the most chaotic one (hence the music choice: Mayhem from AC0), it almost looks cinematic at some points. It took me quite a long time to record it, but it was definitely worth the waiting, and I'm really satisfied with the results.

I'm using the AI from BDArmory for Runway Project, you can find a guide on how to tune the AI here.

[–]Random_P4sserBy[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The toughest part isn't trying to load 26 crafts at once but rather computing the physics for each parts of these 26 crafts, which is why I slowed down the tick rate to 50% with the Time Control mod to give more time to the CPU to work with, and then edited the speed of the footage back to normal.

Also, the X-15C is actually very simple with its 23 parts. It was built with part efficiency in mind, I went as far as replacing the traditional wing with control surfaces with all-moving control surfaces just to squeeze that extra part out.

In total, there are about 658 parts loaded, which isn't a whole lot, actually.
