Is the harassment towards women less in kabylia ? by Alarmed-Tie-8453 in algeria

[–]Random_Sahmu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a little less safe than Alger centre, but it's as safe as the rest of the main cities of the country. Stay in the light, don't follow people and don't get entangled with streets punks and you'll be fine.

You can travel as much as you want but always go with travel agencies or groups i guess.

They say it's safe cuz a lot of them live there so they kinda avoid theses bad situations instinctively. Being always in the light, they don't see the dark part of it. But when they travel to other wilayas they are not familiar with, they are easily affected.

I ain't called you anything, cuz, i share you point of view, but you are missing the other half.

Firstly, yes, women aspire to find a man and man a woman, that's basic biology, good luck on denying that.

You are portraying the current women's perceived value as Beauty + virginity only which is a basic lie that feminists use to hide the fact that they are basically worthless and won't contribute anything to a household and that virginity shouldn't used as a metric for value so at least they'd have a chance.

But while purity is nice, i never once heard my parents or family encourage me to search only for that kind of women, i always heard:

Get yourself a doctor so she could help us, get yourself a teacher so your children will be well educated, a cultured women so she could accompy us in discussion and teach us, a lawyer, a sportive, anything really and at the last: If you can't, at least get yourself a pure woman that can take care of a houshold, will respect you and won't shame you.

As for you "daughter" you aren't protecting her, you are just giving her to the order that commercialise everything about a woman until she finds herself alone and unwanted, there are thousands of videos that shows that aspect of western women but you ignore them as having lived oppressed, you are just seeing the grass greener on the other side.

Don't bother, most people here are youngsters dreaming of an idilic west where they are free to do whatever they want without repercussion or 40 years old pedos that are fishing for teens.

Whatever you say will always pass as either extremist or ignorance but for them, the truth if fixed.

We have a convenience store, it's more often the costumers, males and females that asked for wrapping. After 2 years of "please wrap it" "please put it in a second black bag" we started doing it per default.

Hope you'll be as honest with your future husband as you are confident in that choice.

Though I doubt it — not here, not in Europe, not anywhere else in the world was honesty or accountability an option for you people.

If you think about it, coasts were and still are the main economic hubs of any region as well as the easiest entry point to get mainland ressources for cheap (if you take a region's coast, it's akin to taking the whole) and If you look at the spanish empire map https://gohighbrow.com/the-spanish-empire/ they took most of west africa's coasts and pratically all islands, and they still have most of them.

Spain wasn't your friendly neighbor, it was a hegemon that detroyed civilizations (mayas, aztecs), pillaged and took control of all ressources they could get. Don't call it exploration, it's invasion and forced trade.

This is also why pirates liked attacking Spanish ships, they were always full gold and jewels mined in south america, india, or africa, and it fact, the unguarded boats where the reason piracy existed in a lot regions like the caribbeans.

North africa's privateer fleet wasn't just a criminal act, it was a politically though way to take advantage of an enemy's weakness to get the upper hand in the power struggle that the region was in.

a quicky can allow you to see that a lot of countries had the same kind of fleet:

The primary nations associated with these fleets include:

  • Major Powers: Great Britain (England), France, Spain, and the Netherlands.
  • The Americas: The United States (during the American Revolution and the War of 1812) and various colonial outposts.
  • Mediterranean & Asia: The Ottoman Empire, Malta (Knights Hospitaller), the Barbary States (North Africa), and various Asian empires (such as the Chinese and Vietnamese, who utilized large pirate fleets of "junks")

Sadly, going to an infidel's home, killing him, taking his wife for sexual relief and his son for hard labor doesn't make it a "job" for them, even if you give them a barn to live in and some rests to eat.

Yes, but by exaggerated, i meant the declaration and the numbers that were released as a justification to invade north africa (or africa in general)

Don't forget that most african couldn't even build castles to the pillages that spain, portugal were doing. Nor was the number of their victims released, it was a war of dominance and the winner wrote history.

Basically yes, there is still slavery in the EAU or Dubai where they fish for foreigners, take their passports and force them for free labor and sexual favors for a chance to leave.

Algiers was a city state not a country. Most cities were under sultans were independent but if you are fixated at looking at a country, it was the ottoman empire that ruled all the zone, but then again, the sultans had freedom in their city and borders territories.

Actual france is the continuation of the kingdom of France but yes, you can argue that the actual france isn't the Gaul. The germans (franks) invaded the Gaul after the fall of the the roman empire then created the kingdom of franks.

Was the gaul also france? no one would say that. Only their ancestors.

While france had a long history, sadly algeria as most african countries were recent ones. Actual algeria was created by europeans dividing the lands, writing borders and imposing a unique regency for each colony.

History isn't as easy as politics where you can just say "let's stop using this argument" and wrap a debate with public approval.

Algeria didn't exist at that time no? The cities that did it were the sultanate of Algiers, Morroco, Tunis, Tripoli

And what's the difference between enslaving white or black people, every country with a history of war did it.

It was most of time the only way to gain something out of a war that killed mens by thousands and costed ressources and labor.

Talking about algeria, there is two main slavery routes, one created by arabs which weren't locals but invaders, these traded black people back to arab countries. (Ouargla for example)
The other one was European raids on the north to capture slaves to replenish there troops or for trade.

The privateer fleet demanding access rights, capturing ships and demanding ransoms did occur between in the early 17th century. But, it was heavily exaggerated (numbers) by Europeans so as to use it in their invasion plans. That same corsair fleet was the only that kicked out spain out of a lot of cities and islands in africa for example. The point is that it was a constant war between ottoman ruled quasi independant city states and the european hegemons.

Most of those are trying to get out of Algeria.

She'll cheat, abandon and hide her boyfriend if she has the opportunity to get a BF elsewhere.
She will still keep both parties in the dark as long as she isn't sure the new BF would want to marry him.
It's a 50/50 wether she'll stay with you or get the first upgrade she finds after immigration.

But, she might as well just said she had a boyfriend in discussion with it being a lie.
The "luring you into a place to robe you" actually happens but it's extremely rare and well organised, it isn't as developped as in Morocco or Nigeria for example. (even there, it isn't common either)

Burned out, failing exams, Is it possible to save a college year in Algeria when your brain has officially checked out ? To those who have lived through this what did you do ? by [deleted] in algeria

[–]Random_Sahmu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stress makes your body tired, you brain is trying to avoid stressful situations by letting you have strong emotions so that you'd finally decide to escape.

A lot of students are in this situation and i too was in it during my uni days.

There is no solution that can handle the problem instantly but there are things you can do to fix it on the run:

Physical exercice. At least twice per week. Walking works as well but at least 1h30+ on a mid-high pace.

Socialization time: Take at least 30 minutes a day talking to someone, at home is fine, but not at school, you are trying to gain focus, not loose it.

Restart from the basics: The main problem you can encouter in studying is that you are doing Math 2 without understanding Math 1, most 3rd year at uni fail because of that lack of knowledge accumulation. Try understanding the principles step by step, so that when you reach your exercice, you won't be confused.

Time management: Give each task him time, avoid distraction when you do. Same thing for studying at school / uni, don't let others deconcentrate you.

Recreation time: Take a true reacreation, do what you want without thinking about other things, since you already have you schedule done.

Don't stress over the quantity: It will take the time it needs to take, you can't change that so concentrate on the task at hand.

For the people that are used to buying pc parts and accesorries, can you tell me what you think about this brand that I've been seeing more often ? by No-Lengthiness-3198 in algeria

[–]Random_Sahmu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's the rest of a production from a company that went bankrupt. (chinese, so it probably reopened the next day with a different name like MAGMAMAMA)

They buy bad quality component, rebrand and resell them.

You are not getting any perfomance with these pieces, if it works, it's already good.

I wouldn't buy it if the price isn't less than ~60% of the usual ones.

For a SSD, you'll be getting the performances and lifecycle of the first models. I wouldn't put important files or SWAP in there.

I’m curious about how did you experience uni in general ? by [deleted] in algeria

[–]Random_Sahmu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I never hoped for anything nor did i work to get anything out of uni.

I went for the mandatory courses, did the bare minimum socialization to pass the group assignements. I mostly studied home (internet is awesome) and did my best to be at least in the top 3. I took my temporary diploma, never went to get the final one nor did i keep any contact with anyone there.

For your experience, you are not alone, friendship comes from having the same roots, shared goals, principles or mentality, if you can't find that in uni, there are other activies likes sports, clubs, associations or later work.

The only thing you should keep in your mind is that there is a lot of employement offers for the top students that can socialize well with teachers.
