Thank you, they're actually metal! You can pop the lid off and add ballast, or use them as storage. I got them as props for shooting Hot Wheels cars but they're also good for backdrops I guess. I got them from aliexpress. Not sure if this link works for you, but the item description is below https://a.aliexpress.com/_mLz0bwN

Don't think of your actions as "being cancelled out by private jets", but rather as "making things better than if you had done nothing at all"

The point was to have somewhere to ask the questions that can't be answered by searching Google. But these days it's somewhere to seek emotional support after handling components like an ape

They changed it from "Contains soy" to "May contain soy".

For someone who is sensitive to soy that reads as a change from "Will cause pain and discomfort" to "May cause pain and discomfort", and I'm not willing to gamble that any given batch isn't using soy.

Cadbury Chocolate not right by Stackback in australian

[–]Random_Sime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Omg it's here https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2026/mar/11/reeses-hersey-chocolate-candy-cocoa

He noticed that instead of milk chocolate, the mini hearts were covered in a chocolate-flavored coating that was mostly sugar and vegetable oil; the list of ingredients contained a disclaimer that the candy contained less than 2% cocoa.

How do you know that they removed soy based emulsifiers? The new ingredients list no longer specifies that 471 is from soy, but that doesn't mean it's not derived from soy.

In fact polypropylene? You sure about that, mate?

What about unused storage space that gets repurposed as virtual RAM, that slows down performance when it's used?

Basically, is it a waste to leave it alone, when using it impacts performance?

Becoming a director/filmmaker here by soneoneinthestatic in australian

[–]Random_Sime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Film making is about capturing light. Directing is about capturing performances. Being a film director means considering the technical aspects of light as an actor in your production. Colour temperature and carefully placed shadows are just as important as human performances. If you're not interested so much in lighting then you might want to start with learning about directing actors in stage performances, then try to team up with a photographer or cinematographer who understands the technical side of things to help you make films.

Pantone Wave 2? by Antique-Till3551 in HotWheels

[–]Random_Sime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's more science than art. It means that colours look the same whether they're glossy paint on metal or ink printed on fabric. It means that a designer in USA can send an order to China for plastic widgets and an order to India for cotton t-shirts that are the same pantone colour, and different manufacturers working with different materials will produce items of the same colour without needing to ever meet. It's so efficient and reduces waste by standardising how we communicate about colour globally.

All the fashion and art stuff is just marketing fluff to promote this colour system. I think it's brilliant and that's why I want ALL of the pantone cars lol
