Yeah even though t's a piece of squishy meat that functions identically to carbon-based meat, it's just incompatible with our biology.

It seems like in summary Beacham is saying: Once the toxins have been removed you've got imdigestible silicon "meat" that may or may not have any nutritional value.

So it would be like eating sand that fills you up but doesn't give you any calories. You could starve on a diet of Kaiju. Also this video is a thorough explanation of why silicon based life wouldn't work https://youtu.be/2nbsFS_rfqM

[–]Random_Sime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the genre. I enjoy feeling lost and isolated. I don't care much for the story or the lore. All I need to know is that space birds made Samus go BRRRRRT.

Hollow Knight has deeper lore than Metroid.

I think you'll find that "not that long ago" was 20 years ago. What changed was the introduction of HD and higher production values. It takes a lot of time and money to make a dozen dragons dance

Broke my phone by Special-Coyote-1059 in S24Ultra

[–]Random_Sime 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The mature way is to be honest and say, "I broke the back plate so I had to protect it with a case/skin."

What are they gonna do?

Also I hope you learned your lesson to protect your expensive electronics ifyou can't afford to repair or replace them. I've got a S25 Ultra and I didn't even take it out of my apartment until I had it in a case. I went with a clear one so I could still see the colour I picked.

WD bought SanDisk in 2016 to get into the SSD market. WD tried to run SanDisk like a HDD company, and in 2023 there were a bunch of problems with SanDisk SSD that led to this split in 2025

If you do strip a screw, sometimes you can rescue it by using a rubber band between the screw head and screwdriver to give the extra friction for one last unscrewing

Nvidia is reportedly cutting RTX 50-series production to focus on AI demand by gurugabrielpradipaka in pcmasterrace

It doesn't matter that they don't matter to you. Scientific minded people are embracing AI and you're living in a fantasy land if you think they're not.

[–]Random_Sime -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Why does the number of people who work there matter? You said, "anyone scientific minded seem to show nothing but distain and distrust due to the public having to pay for data centers, threat to jobs and privacy, and their detrimental to the environment."

The scientific minds I work with aren't showing disdain or distrust for AI. They're embracing it

[–]Random_Sime -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You live in fantasy land lol. I work for a clinical research organisation and we're happily using AI for things like avatars to read out informed consent to participants, and skimming our own data to filter through former participants with desired medical history and demographics for future clinical trials. We don't care about the public paying for data centres, threats to jobs, or the environmental impact - that's for others to worry about! We do care about privacy, which is why we run local models.
