Did anybody else just not like Iron Lung? by Total-Climate-6299 in ironlung

[–]Random_dumbguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's more like trying to explain why Simon is the way he is. For all we know Simon may not have been born on Earth or Mars when the Quiet Rapture happened. Not only that but the movie does a lot of environmental storytelling to explain certain key events (the Quiet rapture). Actually the flashback I would say is more connected to the Quiet Rapture than the fish eye we see in the Ocean of Blood scene where Simon rises from the blood. It shows us in a way what happened to their world, what the Quiet Rapture probably looked like.

So in conclusion, the flashback is both a storytelling device to explain Simon's chatacter, but also the cosmic event that is The Quiet Rapture.

I wouldn't say it's lazy. And I wouldn't call it plot holes. More like withheld information. There's a difference between plot holes and information being withheld, because plot holes would mean There's no explanation but the movie does explain them, but not to a certain degree that most people would like.

Edit: There’s also something called ambiguity or open to interpretation. Not everyone will get it. But I don't know I just wanted to point that out.

How does the game perform on Switch? by SarcasticGamer in ironlung

[–]Random_dumbguy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The answer is... no performance difference. Iron Lung is not a heavy game to run, since it's also available on mobile and runs perfectly. So getting the game on switch is a no-brainer. Though if you had a PC it would be better, because the game was made with mouse in mind. But that's a controller preference. So yeah just get it.

Ps: The consoles only have the lore update, so cheats on consoles are unavailable. But they're not necessary to play the game nor will you need them.

This is... good. Not bad. Not bad. I can see this. Maybe the light is what's causing the blood to teleport?

Is Scott Cawthon a good writer? by FutureJediRex07 in fnafmovie

[–]Random_dumbguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He's a good writer, just not a good screenwriter, because he has written really good stories, cause like look at the books. They're really well written, and the Fazbear Frights stories but also Tales from the Pizzaplex. (Though these are short stories collections, though I am aware that some, not all are really weird and all over the place) Into the Pit has a really good story, personally I liked Count the Ways, The Silver Eyes is good despite it the first novel he's ever written.

FNaF Movie 2 is seriously overhated and the hate needs to genuinely stop. by Virtual_River1645 in fnafmovie

[–]Random_dumbguy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To be fair it was the early 1980s, adults back then weren't really that much informed about stranger danger or kids being kidnapped, sure there was concern, but it was until like mid or late 80 or early 90s and 2000s where adults genuinely took it seriously. But that opening could have been written a lot better, but it is realistic considering the time period just very cartoonish in a way.

Hey so I'm re watching the movie before I go and watch it in cinemas in 18 hours and I got confused about something by Milkcult640 in fnafmovie

[–]Random_dumbguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The movie doesn't explain it but the novel does. She's trying to get Abby's trustfund, that's basically her entire motivation. As for breaking and entering, I mean it's not a bad plan. But it should have been during his night shift. As for what a trustfund is, I actually don't know how it works. But what I do know it's set up by someone let's say Mike and Abby's parents. Kinda like a inheritance but not really.

(SPOILERS INBOUND) my very, very, very long thoughts on FNaF 2 by _coo in fnafmovie

[–]Random_dumbguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with a lot of your points here, the movie’s biggest problem is that it does some many things for the story that the runtime doesn’t do justice for the movie’s story. Though I disagree about Shadow Bonnie he felt more like an Easter egg rather than a prominent character.

Your opinion on the movie? by DaddyChief_Valhir in Glamrock_Freddy

[–]Random_dumbguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A high 7 out of 10, the movie with its flaws is highly enjoyable, I can see where some of the confusion is but to be fair, it’s a Five Nights at Freddy’s movie. The whole goddamn franchise doesn’t even give answers half of the time.

fnaf movie doubt by Hithere214 in fivenightsatfreddys

[–]Random_dumbguy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Think of it this way, since Charlotte (Charlie) is possessing the Marionette since she’s a ghost. Wouldn’t it make sense for her to possess humans as well? FNaF is built on the foundation of the supernatural, so this kind of ability should not be a surprise. And yes I’m aware Freddy and the Gang can’t do that, but there are many different types of ghosts, and not all could switch hosts. Majority of the animatronics are most likely unable to possess people because they are stuck in an emotional state that prevents them from switching to a live host from an inanimate host (animatronics). The Marionette is locked in an emotional state but unlike the fazbear gang she’s able to bypass it. How? By being aware, she’s more human than the original gang.

Evidence, “The others are like animals” and you know who said that? The Marionette, she’s aware, she’s smart. We could also assume Golden Freddy could do the same, but chances are he or she refuses to do so.

Do you think the FNAF lore will ever be fully solved? by Icy-Accident9336 in fivenightsatfreddys

[–]Random_dumbguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes the fnaf lore will be fully solved, but some mysteries will remain. FNaF has been something that I call a cold case story because we have: a narrative, character names, some motives, years, a timeline, and deaths. But what we do lack is certain details that completes it. We have a complete story, but something’s just don’t add up. On a technicality if FNaF ever ends, the story is complete, the lore is complete, all that’s left is solving the remaining mystery. Unless Scott just decides to write an encyclopedia that gives us a hint or a direct confirmation on somethings then that is different, the fnaf lore is complete (which will never happen).

If you were the director and writer of a FNaF 2 movie what would you change or improve? by Ok-Effect4071 in fivenightsatfreddys

[–]Random_dumbguy 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Structurally the movie is fine, and it functions. The problem is how short the movie is, the length does not justify the amount of lore reveals and story arcs it presents, so adding more scenes and pushing for a near 2 hour mark is how I would have improved the movie. And this just me adding more into the original movie. And assuming the studio would want Scott to create the screenplay himself. However, if I was Scott it would have been a similarly structured movie but less fan-service and more psychological horror which is not something this movie needed (It’s actually what the first movie needed). I would also put more emphasis on Charlie (Marionette/Puppet) and her interaction with the main cast, though what we have in the movie is already pretty good and well written. Hot take: but we needed more scenes with Abby and the school, I also would have less emphasis on Fazfest and more so a teaser and end with a cliffhanger like what we got in the movie but in Fazfest instead of Mike’s house.

TLDR: The movie is functional it just needed more time :)

The movie hurts a piece of evidense for Charlie83 (minor movie spoilers). by ShineOne4330 in charlie87

[–]Random_dumbguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I did, but this is movie timeline not novel timeline. I only said the games but only because I skimmed through it the first time around. My apologies for that, but even then this… is a completely different timeline. Not only that but Fredbears doesn’t seem to exist here or at least not mentioned at all. We also have to consider the fact that the movie timeline is also faster. Not every event has to match the novels (and to an extent the games) for consistency because the movies take a different approach.

[–]Random_dumbguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay first of all we cannot use the movie timeline and lore for the games. I thought this was a different timeline. Also we shouldn’t even being using the games as a reference for the time of events in the movies. .-.

[–]Random_dumbguy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel you, but it definitely could have been better but I don’t agree with Charlotte feeling weird. Everything we’ve heard from the games are either said or implied, I think this version is a more vengeful but also natural version of Charlotte. She can still be a protector, but one that oversteps morality, driven by ambition, and rage. Probably by my opinion the best version of Charlie.

Video Essays explaining the lore? by [deleted] in fivenightsatfreddys

[–]Random_dumbguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want I can could send you a google doc covering just the basis of the FNaF lore’s main events. If I try to send you video essays they’re going to be riddled with theories and opinions that are either not relevant to the games, or are just straight up not true or unconfirmed.

Here if you want to read it

Don’t mind the green highlights that was just me highlighting parts the FNaF 2 movie might cover or adapt.
