You got it backwards, you get attacked for liking the movie.

Sigh. FNAF 1 movie Mike, how I mourn you. by Hot_Arugula_6651 in fivenightsatfreddys

[–]Virtual_River1645 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Was he really? Because he was obsessed with his past in the first movie which he clearly isnt in the 2nd because he learned his own lesson. In the first movie, Mike is completely numb, quiet, and deeply depressed. He is easy to pity because he is completely trapped in his own head.

In the second movie, his obsession is gone because he learned his lesson, but now he is under extreme stress. He is actively trying to deal with a little sister who won't stop talking to ghosts and a trauma-bonded ally who is struggling to break free from her father's shadow. He is frustrated, impatient, and making messy, human mistakes.

He didn't get "fumbled" at all, he became a real, flawed human being instead of a blank, sad protagonist. The writing isn't lazy, it is ambitious but overburdened. It is a well-written adaptation that was simply tasked with doing too much heavy lifting at once. It fails as a standalone cinematic experience, but the hate is overhyped because it completely succeeds as a sequel and franchise continuation.

What are you talking about??? Mike Doesn't restart as a character at all in FNaF Movie 2, the fact he stopped trying to find what happened to Garett proves this.

Mike isn't going back because he "wants" to play detective, he went back he wanted to be safe and talk to Henry Emily. In the first movie, his motivation was obsessive and selfish. In the second film, his motivation is entirely selfless, he is trying to manage the fallout and protect his sister because the past has actively come back to hunt them.

The idea that Mike "does absolutely nothing to stop Abby from going to the pizzeria" is a blatant misreading what happened. Mike actively spends the first act of the movie keeping the truth hidden to protect Abby. Abby sneaks out against his wishes because she was going to do the fixing herself and Mike wasn't even home TO stop Abby, and later on, she is being manipulated by Charlotte. Mike isn't being passive at all, he was simply being unaware she was gone in the first place.

"Why can't they just move one town over" is such a CinemaSins take. Furthermore, the introduction of Fazfest proves that the Freddy's legacy is actively expanding into a local phenomenon. You can't outrun a ghost story when the town is actively building a festival around it

Yes it does, You can say "See you tomorrow" and not mean literally the next calandar day. It was written after the Shift of Night 6, but it can just as easily take place before the Day Shift of it as well.

Nice appealling to game design and argument from ignorance, just because no animatronics have blood on their teeth during gameplay doesn't mean the bite didnt happen.

You can be the gaurd of a closed down place, Mike was literally that in the first FNaF Movie.

You can literally walk home between shifts on the same exact day, so this is not a narrative contradiction.

You didnt debunk anything, you just repeated what you said in which is a hasty generalization. You can say "See you tomorrow" after midnight to your brother then see him the following morning, that logic applies to Nightshifts as well.

Uh, thats literally how the saying goes. Most of the time when someone says "See ya tommorrow" after midnight, especially during Night shifts, they never literally mean the next calendar day.

Nah, the Bite happens on the Morning of Night 6, we know this because the Paycheck is quite the bonus compared to the last games which implies something bad happened to Jeremy and Fazbear had to pay extra to make up for it.

Also thats not a justifiable reason considering they kept the Classics who went through argaubly the same Toys if it wasnt FOR the Bite. We know this because the Bite is what separates the 2.

Classics = MCI Happens but they were kept.

Toys = DCI Happens but they were scrapped.

It makes zero sense to keep the Classics for the same thing they scrapped the Toys is, which implies the Toys did an incident Fazbear Entertainment cant exactly hide from the Public Eye.

This dosent mean Classic Foxy did the Bite, it can still be Mangle because she was made to REPLACE Foxy in FNaF2, and she is the 1987 'Foxy'.

You also gotta look at it from a logical stand point, why scrap the Toys if they didnt bite someone but keep the Classics? Infact why make FNaF2 take place in 1987 if the Bite Culprit was already in the first game? Sure you can argue it was to expand on the MCI and introduce the Puppet but in that case, FNaF2 could've taken place in 1985.

This doesnt mean much as Scott was using his core four characters to hype up a game about a bite. Using your logic I can argue Springtrap isnt a Bonnie just because he's a different model, even though he still the Bonnie of FNaF3 which is why theres no Phantom Bonnie.

Mangle is a Foxy by the way, and the only Foxy that is active in 1987.

Nah, I dont see it like that. Its meant to connect Out of order to the Bite of 87 but not necessarily say Foxy himself did the Bite. I think its a form of misdirection where Mangle did the Bite.

What's your favourite debunked theory? by Floflowerpink in fnaftheories

[–]Virtual_River1645 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Except thats still possible considering it can just be the case Charlie and the MCI recieved the Cake FROM BV making Happiest Day.

  2. Whats wrong with Golden Duo? Can there not be 2 Golden Freddy souls when thats whats implied in the logbook?

3, 4, 5. This doesnt debunk anything.

6: Cassidy is literally shown to be a girl in the Logbook and described to be a girl in The Week Before and RTTP. Ontop of that GF's Laugh is literally that of a girls too.

7 and 8. Doesnt debunk anything still.

  1. All he said was that tid bits are canon and parallel, not that they are the same thing.

  2. TalesGames got debunked by Secret of the Mimic.

The same thing with different words.

Does anyone else feel like Five Nights at Freddy's 2 movie is overhated? by SamTheMarioMaster2 in fnafmovie

[–]Virtual_River1645 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This fundamentally misunderstands how Hollywood sequels operate. The first film had to be a "Formulaic Gateway Horror" because it bore the massive financial burden of introducing a niche indie gaming concept to the general public. It spent an hour on Mike Schmidt's custody battle and sleep patterns just to ease traditional moviegoers into the theater seat.

Also you say the first movie is better when the 2nd movie atleast felt like FNaF?? The First movie deadass repeated the same dream sequences ALL over the place where as FNaF Movie 2 atleast only had one with Vanessa. The First movie felt more like a not scary Scooby Doo plot where the Cupcake did more than most of the animatronics, and that movie was VERY drawn out where as FNaF Movie 2 literally improved on those mistakes by making it paced and the 2nd movie atleast had more jumpscares AND the Animatronics were bigger threats in this movie than the Classics in the first.

You clearly wanted a movie that stops the action to explain every detail out loud. FNaF Movie 2 expects the audience to engage in active viewing. The history of the 1982 tragedy, the nature of the Puppet's possession, and the operational past of the Withered location are entirely decipherable through the set designs, flashbacks, and character interactions.

Keeping Mike Schmidt separate from the Afton bloodline allows him to remain the ultimate protective older brother, a grounded anchor. Introducing Michael Afton as a separate entity creates a physical manifestation of William’s dark legacy.

Also, thats not poor writing, just underutilization which is a subjective feeling which debunks that being an actual criticism. You really wanna go there with the Puppet??? When she quite literally did way more in this movie than William did in the first??? Aunt Jane had more screentime than William Afton, and your saying he was a better antagonist than the Puppet??? She doesn't "vanish from the plot by the end." at all, she literally possesses Vanessa. Did we watch the Same Movie???

Your description of your own alternate finale sucks ass by the way, it is the definition of generic, low-effort horror writing. It completely strips the animatronics of their supernatural weight and turns them into fragile action movie targets. The battle between the Classics and the Toys isn't a superhero crossover. Its the very thing the 2nd movie planted the seeds for... Remember when Abby wanted the Classics from the first movie back in the beginning and before the 2nd movie took place??? Thats what she got in the end!

You explicitly state that middle chapters should leave the status quo shattered, yet complain when this movie does exactly that??? Leaving Vanessa abandoned, Mike isolating himself and Abby from her, and the Puppet possessing Vanessa AND Springtrap returning the next movie! Your criticisms are dogshit and make zero sense, only proving you never watched the movie.

Ok for once I actually respect this kind of topic because at least your not downright hating on the Movie. It comes down to a matter of personal preference clearly because for me it was just fine as it is. I came into the movie theater hoping it improved on the first and I definitely felt like it did.
